The content I created for "The Sweetest Things" are mostly all fiction stories. I sometimes take ideas from real life situations like most writers. The story below is non-fiction (real). Oh my goodness, this is the most sweetest thing ever. Feel free to remember that humanity isn't dead, it is still alive. It also looks just like these melanated Black male police officers. BOOM!

Thank you to all of the parents and people in communities all over the world that are raising boys to be these kind of caring men. Of course special thanks to the parents and village of these two melanated men, that just happen to be police officers. I hope and pray that this image can sway the hearts and minds in those of us that just have a bad taste in our mouths when we see or hear the words of police officers. Whatever your experiences have been with your local police or just law enforcement in general, please know and try to understand that there are offices like these two men. They have family and friends that love them just like your family cares and loves you, as you serve in your professional careers or your own businesses. Try not to put them all in the same box.

These men listened to their parents or guardians as they were growing up. They did not have to do what they did, but they made a choice to treat this elderly woman like she was their own grandmother. It's so heartwarming and refreshing to witness this kind of loving story. We need more of this. There are men and women who are elderly and they have family members but they don't check on them. Train your kids to look out for their elderly family members. Ms. Lula had an army by her side. I am thankful for the time I had with my grandmother as a child, as a young adult, and as a grown woman. I took the initiative to check on her and spend time with her.

Just because you are young doesn't mean you can't squeeze in some time to visit or check on your grandparents or those elders in your family that live alone. Sit down and cook or eat a meal with them. People get lonely. Especially our senior population. It will bless your soul if you spend a little time with the elderly people in your family that are in need of some of your time.
