Jamila was just starting her career as a dancer and actress. She had been in all of the hip hop and R&B videos of artist like Sean Puffy Combs, Usher, Method Man, Tu Pac, Snoop Dog, Toni Braxton and even Janet Jackson. It's time for us to stop using and abusing the latest quotes of overly used words of expression. Maybe it is time for some of us to get familiarized with these new buzz words. It all started in 2018. Then, I had to stay abreast on all the groovy words that kept on coming in 2019. I know we had some cool phrases to use and abuse in 2020 but covid-19 had me inattentive. Facts! What's conducive to us as individuals who enjoy creative content on social media are all the positive exchanges of people and learning environments. I spoke no lies! For example, Bourgie Moms, on Instagram. Thats a real one right there! You are not using social media etiquette if you are not using these fine phrases. I said what I said!

FACTS

Get ready for the truth and nothing but the truth. This word gets used and ruled in abuse to the third power. Try it! It’s a short to the point way to agree with folks you deem worthy of agreement. This one really kind of gets on my nerve. People do the most (overuse) with this word. I’m going to exaggerate. If your friend said wow this snickers candy bar has lots of nuts and caramel, then the other friend says Facts! It’s so annoying when people do that. Yes, that dress Beyonce had on was banging in hotness! Facts! Remember it has to be true, which makes it a fact.


SHE/HE SPOKE NO LIES

When you hear people saying this quote, all they are doing is agreeing with the issue that happened or narrative being spoken. You have to engage in showing off to the world (lol) that you know how to keep your agreement in alignment with others. If a person works in a retail store and doesn’t really like melanated black people, they should be very careful. If they call customers the n-word and the customers hear them, depending on how the person responds for calling the racist retail person out for their dislike of them, they not lying. They spoke no lies because it was wrong for the retail associate to say what he/she said in the first place. We know they use that word all the time at home. Leave it at home! If you make a choice to use that word, please be ready to receive backlash.

SHE/HE SAID WHAT THEY SAID

If something is very controversial and people are on social media commenting on a particular situation, sometimes you will have people that will like or not like your point of view. They may challenge you. It’s okay because we all have an opinion, and we are all entitled to that opinion. People can get seriously nasty with you for a comment you make publicly. I get it! You have to keep in mind that what you say on platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram never gets old or erased. When people use these phrases, they don’t care. If there is a majority of people for abortion and your comment is against abortion, there might be another person who stands in agreement with you. Although you may not be in the win of the majority, who cares. Others that do feel the same as you will say “She said what she said.” Which means they stand by what they said despite who doesn’t like it. No matter how popular or unpopular it is. You have a right to jazz up your comments by using these words to express yourself when you make public comments. Parents use this phrase as well. Lord, have mercy. You don’t always get an explanation. They said what they said and that’s the end. Stop asking!


THAT’S A REAL ONE RIGHT THERE

I like this one an entire bunch, mixed in with pure love. This sincere expression reminds me of my cousin and her daughter. They say it all the time towards each other. You will definitely hear this expression on social media. You will also learn to utilize it lovingly outside of social media. Here’s why. When you engage in saying these words you are honestly affirming that you have a person in your life that has your back. They are real and true to you! It fosters encouragement and appreciation. If you see a person on social media who may not be a size 2 and loves the skin, she/he is in, rocking in their self-worth, oh yes, that’s a real one right there. You can’t tell her just because she is a big girl, she shouldn’t have high self-esteem because, she should. She is living her life to the fullest while you are judging her weight. She a real one!
