Jayce:(knocking on his parent's door) Mom, I can't sleep you are too loud. I can hear you and dad having sex. Mom, mom! Can I come in to talk? Can you and dad move in the basement? Even Jason and Jaden talk about your noise too.

Mom:(surprised) Honey, stop! Jayce is at our bedroom door. Shhh, wait. I said stop.

Dad: (shocked) He's what? Tell him to go back to bed! It's 3 am. He should be in the bed.

Mom: (opens door halfway) Sweetie go back to bed ok. Mommy has a sleeping disorder and sometimes I snore loud. I am so sorry I woke you up. Dad is at work. Remember, dad works late hours. Go back to bed, ok.

Jayce: (irritated) Mom, why are you acting like a liar? You are lying to me. You taught me never to lie. Dad sells cars. He does not work overnight. And why are you guys moving your bedroom furniture around every night and morning? It is very annoying. Why is dad creeping around like he's not here. I know dad is in there. I know about the birds and the bees, mom. I know the difference between moaning and snoring. You do both to make it seem like its only snoring. Jaden and Jason say you sound like a beast. They hear it too!

Mom (angrily...yelling) I SAID GO TO BED NOW JAYCE! SCHOOL STARTS SOON. (shuts the door in Jayce face)

Jayce: (smirking) Yes ma'am. Ok, going back to bed. Well, are you cheating on dad because the man in the room with you is definitely stimulating your vagina. Like every night! We all hear YOU doing the whoochie coochie mom.

Dexter: (Nervously pulling a note out of his pocket) Divinity, I know we both came here to talk about something regarding our parents. When we walk across that stage together, we will have enough money to depend on ourselves.

Mama Said Trust in The LORD! 

Lela received a sweet surprise for her 18th birthday. Her parents brought her a new car. Lela is one of those kids that every mother hopes to have. She is very intelligent. She attends a community, college. Lela is active in her church as a young leader. She is extremely mannerly. Her parents can trust her. She makes good choices. She is the best big sister to her little brother Leon (12) and sister Lilly (6). One day Lela is driving home from school, and she has a car accident. A man ran into the back of her car. She calls her mom. Lela is completely in a bit of shock. She is traumatized by the experience. Lela wasn't hurt at all. Not one scratch! Her mom calls her dad, and he rushes to the scene to be by Lela's side as they await the arrival of the police.  

Lela: (crying) MOM! MOM! Where's dad? He should have been here by now! I don't really know what to do. The police are pulling up now. 

Mom: Ok, Lela try to calm down baby. I've contacted your insurance and dad is coming. Hold on. You're going to be fine.

Lela: (very upset) I'm never driving that car again. He could've killed me!

Mom: Lela, listen to me. You're the apple of God's eye. You are the love of God. This too shall pass. Yes, you will drive again. 

Lela: No mom. I am not getting back in that car. Dad is here.

Mom: Ok let me speak to dad.

Lela: Dad is talking to the cops and the guy that almost ended my life. Oh, here he comes.

(Lela's mom and dad have a brief conversation.)

Mom: Hey, how bad is her car? Can she drive it home?

Dad: It's not that bad. Yeah, she can drive it home. I'll take it to a body mechanic shop this weekend to see about getting it fixed. The lord was definitely watching over him and her. The man has to go to the hospital to get checked out because he has blood on his clothes. Lela is physically fine. Now mentally, that's another story. We have the police report and the man's insurance information. 

Mom: Ok good. Thanks! Put Lela back on the phone. See you guys shortly.

Lela: Mom, dad is telling me I have to drive my car back home. Why can't I just hop in the car with dad?

Mom: Because our God hasn't given you the spirit of fear Lela, and you are NOT about to have it now. You are going to release that negative energy and drive that car back to the house. Dad said your car is drivable. It will get fixed. You are blessed Lela! I've trained you from a little girl to see and appreciate the light that surrounds you and protect you. It could have been worse. Lilly wants to say something to you.

Lilly: Lela, please remember that you are strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. You got this big sister! Love you! 

Lela: (smiling) Aww Lilly, thanks for reminding me of my spiritual power and authority. You know that I love you too Lilly. 

Mom: I want you to say the prayer I taught you. After you say it, you will be fine to drive your car home. Lilly and I will say it with you.

Lela: Ok, thank you mom. 

(Mom, Lela & Lilly say the prayer together)

The Sweetest Little Thing in Our Genes

Little Lyn Jr. is only 6 years old, but his family thinks he has been here before. He is the baby of 5 kids from Mr. and Mrs. Hopkins. Lyn Jr. loves oldskool slow jams and he even organizes a slow jam celebration for his family during the holidays. He picks music for his aunts and uncles plus their wives or partners to dance to as a family contest. Lyn Jr. is highly intelligent, and he enjoys poetry. He is also a writer. His kindergarten teacher doesn't understand his ways of thinking, at times.

(Mrs. Hopkins is on the phone)

Mrs. Hopkins: Girl, do you remember when I was telling you that Lyn’s sister Cherie was trying to get us to go to a marriage couple retreat and we gave in? Remember we entered a couple’s poetry contest and we won $1000.00?

Pearl: I believe so, wait! Was it the one about something with “together they still spell forever” in it? When Lyn serenaded you with his guitar?

Mrs. Hopkins: (blushing) Yes, that one!

Pearl: Okay, what about it? I really like the "his and hers heir" poetry. I think you and Lyn definitely missed your calling. You guys are phenomenal in your love poetry. I absolutely have benefited from it all.

Mrs. Hopkins: Aww, thanks Pearl. So, Lyn and I have been working late together on some cases. Lyn Jr. is in advanced kindergarten. He is easily bored because he tested at a 3rd grade level. We decided to keep him in advance kindergarten. Yesterday Mr. Hopkins received a phone call from Lyn Jr. vibrant kindergarten teacher. He told me that our child has not been doing his work. I was shocked!

Pearl: I don’t believe that. There has to be more to the story. No child is perfect but something seems off. Lyn Jr. helps my kids with their math and they’re teenagers. He can do the work. What's really going on?

Mrs. Hopkins: Exactly what we said! I called Mrs. Berkeley up and asked her what work he was not doing. She said that in addition to her advanced students learning their names, addresses and telephone numbers, she said they were also supposed to learn and spell any siblings and their parents names. She said Lyn Jr. was successful at writing all of the information but his mom and dad’s name. I told her that he knows his parents’ names. He has a great memory. I asked her if he wrote anything down. What she said he wrote was “together they spell forever” (Lol).

Pearl: (laughing hysterically) You know why he wrote that, right? Because you guys used to read that poem to him almost every night. Oh, my goodness (lol). That’s so sweet.

Mrs. Hopkins: At the age of 3 he heard us saying that poem to each other and he would beg us to say it every night to him before he went to bed. He would tell us we are so good together and how lucky he was to have us as his mom and dad (lol). He is so sweet, just like his dad. I love them all so much!

Pearl: Lyn Jr. has definitely been on this planet before. Lord have mercy, that child of yours (lol)! Yes, I agree. You have been divinely favored.

Mrs. Hopkins: When I asked little Lyn why he didn’t write down my first name and his dad’s name guess what he said?

Pearl: Girl, I just can’t stomach any more laughter. What did he say?

Mrs. Hopkins: He said it was our fault because every day before we drop him off to school, he sees me kissing his dad and his dad grabbing and holding my butt, therefore in his eyes “together we spell forever” names for us is our first and only names. He said our love makes his little 6-year-old soul feel good.

Just Like Dad

Jaqurio is 15 years old and a sophomore in high-school. He is very active in sports and is the vice-president of the student council. He is very popular but well-equipped to handle it all. His parents are educators and he really looks up to his dad. Jaqurio often tells his peers that the men in his family are his examples and he shares the men in his family with his friends who do not have men in their lives. As a young man he prides himself on loving and respecting females. His two best friends (Nelson and Dejuan) look up to him!

(Walking to school together)

Nelson: Man, did yall see Tamika Jenkins ass in that cheerleading skirt last night at the game? That girl is blessed. She is mine, no cobbs.

Dejuan: Hell yes she is! She's too tall for me but if I was interested you wouldn't  have her, I would!

Jaqurio:
Yes, that queen is most definitely a blessed young sister. She smart too! She is in my biology class. Beautiful smile and a "gold mind"...that's my kind of lady.

Nelson:
Jaqurio ever since I've known you, I always admire how much respect you give to these girls. Even when they don't respect themselves, you still give it to them.
 
Dejuan: 
Yeah, that's what's up Jaqurio! I like that in you bro! 

Jaqurio: 
Thanks guys! It’s just how I was raised! I truly adore the women in my family. They are the backbones of our tribe. My dad is my example. My dad tells my little sister Jaslina how worthy she is daily. My older sister Jacqueline is 23 years old and he often affirms her worth as well. Jackie got a full ride to attend college when she left. My parents didn't have to pay nothing. You will be blown away by how my dad treats my mom! Man, I love and appreciation my dad so much. I have been groomed to respect myself, my elders, and the women in my family. They are our queens! We treat them like it! 

Nelson:
What does your dad say to Jaslina? What?

Jaqurio:
He tells her all the time how much he loves her and that she is his world. We all understand that the reason my dad is going back to school to get his PhD is to prepare for when we go to college. We understand that everything my dad does is to provide for my mom and us. He says it all the time.
 
Dejuan:
Man that was so beautiful. That is great. Your dad is always inviting me and Nelson over to mentoring events and all things positive. Your dad rocks!
 
Nelson: 
Yo’ I’m still stuck on the “she is my world” part. I have to use that on the ladies. No, but seriously man, that was dope. Your dad has always been there for me because my dad ain’t around. 

Jaqurio:
My dad tells my little sister and my oldest sister how important they are all the time. They will have healthier relationships. That is why I am who I am because of my dad and my mom. Just because your dad is not in your life doesn't excuse you from knowing better and doing better. You too Dejuan. You got both parents in your life just like I do. Our parents want the best from us! I am going to try my best to be my best and do exceptional things.  Have a good day! See yall later tonight!

His Sweet Thang

Shoshana and Kara are childhood friends. They went to grade school together and college. They both have 3 brothers each, making them the only daughters of their families. They are the sisters they never had. Kara has all boys, but they are all teenagers. Shoshana has all girls. She has 3 teenagers and a five-year-old son named Mateo. Mateo doesn’t like to be at home for school. He keeps asking his mom to take him over all of his girlfriend’s houses to play with them. He misses being around his friends but understands why he can’t go play with them. Kara comes over and Mateo is extremely happy.

(Kara enters the house)

Shoshana:
Hey K! Where are the boys? I thought they were coming over.

Kara:
Hey Shosh! Girl, they got an attitude with me because I told them they couldn’t have their friends over in my house. They called me old fashioned and decided to stay in the house with their dad.

Shoshana:
Dang! It’s been an entire year, I really wanted to see them. What fragrance is that you have on? It is lighting up my entire house, oh my goodness, it smell so good!

Kara:
Oh, it’s that new “Black Girls Rock” perfume by Beverly Bond. Where is Mateo? I’ve been dying to see him. Frank told John they wanted to place him in the second grade. Wow, he is so smart!

Shoshana: (Whispering to Kara)
K, he has been in and out of the kitchen hiding like I don’t notice, like you're a stranger. He is such a little man. We declined to put him ahead at this time. My baby is going to the first grade. Time really does fly by. I am going to get some of that perfume tomorrow!

Kara: (LOL)
Shosh, I know I saw him! I knew that was him. I wasn’t sure if I should have said something to you but when I went to the ladies’ room, I saw Teo in the hallway staring at me. Then, when I called his name, he looked at me and smiled then he ran away like a ghost. He was also doing the same thing when we were in the kitchen, just staring and smiling at me.

Shoshana:
Ok, Mateo, come on in here right now! Explain yourself, please!
(Mateo comes running into the kitchen where Shoshana and Kara are)

Mateo:
Well, I need to speak to Ms. Kara alone. We need some privacy.

Shoshana:
Wait, say what! Absolutely not!

Kara: (picking up Mateo)
What’s going on Teo? You were 4 years old last time I saw you. I missed you! I am so proud of you Mateo. Why were you smiling at me and running away?

Mateo:
I missed you too! You smell so sweet and you look so pretty. I was going to ask you out, but you’ll have to pay. I haven’t been around any pretty girls in a long time since the pandemic. Seeing you makes me feel better. Mom won't let me go see all of my girlfriends. So since I can’t take my mom out I wanted to ask you.

Kara:
Of course we can go out together. l’ll drive, pay, and pick you up.

Mateo:
Great! So you're going to be my sweet thang! I have to run and tell my dad!

Prejudice Dismissed with Little Kisses 

​Amaria and Andrea are two sisters who are 8 and 10 years old. They love being in the company of women in their family. Most, if not all of the women are Deltas or serve in the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Their mom is in a sorority (Delta) and their grandma is an AKA. They idealize their grandmother and they want be in a sorority when they go away to college. The grandmother is extremely active in her chapter. The mother isn't very active. Their dad has several businesses so Amaria and Andrea are quite familiar with all the lingo dealing with running a business, sales, and customer service. They have been exposed to so much at their ages. Their mom is an educator. They want to be professors like their mom. Grandma Olivia is a member of the association board where she resides. Olivia is the secretary of the board and a retired librarian. There is a president, a vice president, and several other members on the board of all backgrounds. The girls attend the meetings sometimes when their parents have to work late. They often sit to the side at a smaller table writing and doing homework. This time they are quite shocked at the meeting. 

​President (Felecia):
​Tonight will be a brief meeting because I have to meet with management to talk about the membership of this board. I will openly discuss with the board what we talked about at our next monthly meeting. The first thing on the agenda is the new doors with our new contractors. We have old business to vote on as far as a member being allowed to live cooperatively next to non-smoking vs smoking members. 

​Member (BettyAnn): 
I have the rest of the minutes for you Felecia and for the the rest of the...

​Olivia: (Cuts BettyAnn off)
I don't need you to do my job! Betty stay in your lane! I can do my own minutes. White women want to control everything.
  
Member (BettyAnn): 
I am sorry you feel that way Olivia but I am not shocked. I was asked to simply  finish taking the minutes when you left ten minutes early last month, that's all.
I just wanted to report to the board how we were unable to come to a consensus 
regarding the non-smoking ordinance. Two members were absent but are here today. We can vote again.

Olivia: (LOUDLY)
YOU'RE NOT SORRY FOR ANYTHING. YOU COULD HAVE WAITED FOR ME TO GIVE MY REPORT BUT OH NO, YOU JUST HAD TO GO FIRST!

​President (Felecia):
Olivia, you are out of order! Please refrain from yelling and screaming at other board members. I asked Betty to finish the minutes when you left. This is highly unprofessional and I will adjourn this meeting if you continue this behavior. 

Olivia:
NO, BETTY IS OUT OF ORDER! I'm out of here!

​The entire board is upset. Betty is in tears. The mood is negative. The girls hug all 10 board members goodbye as they normally do. This time they kiss Betty on the cheeks (Amaria right cheek, Andrea left). Andrea discretely hands Betty a note and whispers "please read later."

BLACK DIRTY EYES

Claire McDermoth and her husband John are 3rd generation European, criminal lawyers. They have seven kids on purpose by design. They are both in their late thirties. Their parents and grandparents are lawyers. Claire often articulates to students, colleagues, and to friends about the circumstances that compelled her into becoming the lawyer she is today. John and Claire McDermoth are proud Christians. They are involved in a multitude of high-profile cases. They serve underprivileged communities by doing Pro Bono. Claire and John own their own law firm together. They successfully help to change laws and lives, particularly for black people in criminal justice. They are asked to come to a prestigious law school to speak to law students and participate in a question-and-answer panel, as they often do.

Law Professor (Man):
It is with great honor to welcome you all to the 56th Annual “These Truths” Law Conference. Today you will be able to gain profound insight and wisdom as we embark on receiving Mr. and Mrs. McDermoth. Please keep questions to a limit of 2 minutes.

Law Student one (Female):
I am aware of the several books you've published. I wanted to know why you chose to study law and how you and Mr. McDermoth met. I also know about the Police Patrol Act. I am so excited to be a participant of that. Inspiration and courage is what you have given me. I am going to model my entire legal career after you. I believe in everything you are doing and have done to make our society more righteous and inclusive for all people. Can you please tell us how the Police Patrol Act was started?
                                                                                                                   
Claire:
Thank you very much! I am truly humbled. I'll just answer for both of us since we are short of time. John and I were destined to be together. Our families are both from the South. We grew up together as neighbors and childhood friends. I don't speak about my personal life too much as an author for personal reasons. John and I come from a family of lawyers on both sides. We've been exposed to certain people, stories and situations. Both of our great grandparents were very racist, but they were practicing Christians. Their parents were slave owners. I am thankful my parents are the antithesis of my grandparents and their own grand- parents mentality. My mom and dad made a great choice to teach my siblings and I right from wrong, despite race or skin color. I absolutely see ugly stains of race and racism in everything. I've seen the lack of care black people received in the medical field. I've seen how economically uneven the playing field is for people who are not white. I know how heavy the weight of white supremacy has been on the backs of African American people, especially the men. My mom is the biggest influence in my life. She grew up in the fifties and sixties. She is my hero. She marched with Dr. King. My mother was very active in the Civil Rights Movement to liberate people that were being oppressed. I became passionate about those same causes. I am assigned by God to do the work I am doing. I am as bold as a lion to see African Americans who are treated less than human obtain freedom. We have family in law enforcement, as politicians and a lot of judges on both sides. I lobbied incessantly for the Police Patrol Act to become a law in the United States. It was time to dismantle the thickness of a system that was purposely racist and designed to keep non-white folks down. I had to do something about all the lives being flushed away right in our faces. The smell was bad! I could not have done it without a host of friends and family. I also had lots of law students and undergraduate students who were simply tired of the same old American hypocrisy. Together we did it! We used our white privilege to change indifference. You guys can do the exact same thing! Right now, in all 50 states, when a police officer arrest and interrogates American citizens, by law, an attorney and law student have to be present to observe. The law students who are practicing criminal law are given a stipend by the state for their service and school credit. We have seen a 90% decrease in false confessions, brutality, and in lawsuits. We the people, demanded that they change. I also see all people as God's creation. All life is meaningful. John went to Harvard. I chose Duke University.

Law Student two (Female):
I heard you and your husband worked as police officers before you went to law school for a few years? Can you speak on that? Is it true you have 7 kids? How do you manage family life and balance running a very efficacious law firm? You are one of the most loved individuals. There are also plenty of white people who loathe what you are doing. How do you handle all of that?

Claire:
Yes, John and I strategically had a 3–5-year plan to work as police officers then we planned on going to law school. We did it for 3 years. It prepared us with a really good head start in criminal law.  We do have 7 blessed kids together. We have identical twin girls and 5 boys. We have the best supportive family you could ever ask for. Although some don't believe in or like the work we do in our families, they adore our children. I have a domination type of mind-set. If I set my mind to do anything it happens. I was pregnant with twins when I graduated from law school and passed the bar. John and I will ensure our legacy remain a solid foundation. All 7 of our children will be lawyers or work in the legal field by any means necessary. I faithfully could care less about all the white people who are afraid to live in their truth. Superiority is a lie our founding fathers gave birth to. Each time racism reigned whites were trained to do nothing about some of the things caused by them. There is a quote that I positively live bye. "The time is always ripe to drown the darkness and produce more light." God told me to let my light shine! That is what I intend on doing. I don't care who doesn't like it. Nothing can stop or block what God told me to rock, quite well! They can take that up with God! That is how I handle them. Thank you for your questions.

Law Student three (Male):
You mentioned earlier that law students and lawyers watch over the behaviors of the police. Do you hate police officers or something? I read a few of your books and I wasn't all that impressed. You didn't even really explain the process of the law you got passed. I want to know from you, as a white woman, why are you devoted to helping black people? Let their own people handle their issues. What about your own people? Blacks kill blacks all the time. They only have it hard because of the choices they make. I'm really curious as to why your entire life mission is focused on these black people.

Claire:
Excuse me, may I ask where are you from?

John:
Honey I can answer this one?

Claire:
No sir, I've got this John.

Law Student three (Male):
Where I am from is not relevant. Please just answer the questions. I have a class in 20 minutes. 

​Claire:
As far as the Police Patrol Act, students are on standby at all police stations. There are thousands of law students in various states. The curriculum allows for students to rotate their schedules, so they still have time for law school and the job. They are individualIy placed in police stations waiting, evaluating, and interfering as counsel if they have to. I've come across white men like you at all times, my European blarney brother. No, to your second question. I do not hate the police. I have a history of slave patrols back then and police officers right now in my bloodline. What I dislike is when men and women who are supposed to serve and protect only feel that obligation towards white people. Somehow, they are filled to the brim with fear of black people. Of course, if there is no guilt, you do not have to apply any defensiveness to my application because you're the cop I am not talking about. I was an officer for a few years. I don't know if you didn't hear that part. I disapprove of anyone using their authority as an officer to murder and abuse. Your opinion or perspective of black people is severely skewed. As I mentioned previously, I am on a mission. My husband and I are doing God's work. For too long white people have stood by and did nothing. So yes, I do love helping black men and women in court. I get that unspeakable joy when I am able to obtain their freedom and overturn bogus cases for them and their families. I have helped poor white families as well, but my purpose, destiny, and assignment are African Americans in criminal justice.

When I was around 6 years old, I went to the park with a family friend. She used to babysit me. I met a 6-year-old black boy who was there with his siblings. His siblings were like 9 or 10. My babysitter was 16 or 17. Keep in mind that this was in the 80s, not 1920 or 1950. I didn't know it then, but my babysitter told her friends to meet her at the park as well. I begin to play with this little black boy in a mixture that was mostly dirt but also a little sand. We were kids. So of course, we didn't see a problem with us playing together. He had beautiful grey eyes and golden dark brown skin. Abruptly, the babysitter male friends came by me and the little boy. They started calling him the N***r word repeatedly. Then they boldly started throwing the dirt in his eyes. I started screaming "He is my friend, stop it! Leave him alone!" He had blood all in his head and in his eyes because the dirt we were playing in had little particles of glass. When his brothers and sisters came over to get him, they were beaten up by the three older teens. It was the most crying I had ever done in my life. I felt the pain this little black boy endured, and I couldn't do anything about what was happening. After the little boy fainted from them rubbing and throwing dirt in his face and eyes they ran off. My scared babysitter was such a coward. She snatched me and ran off with me. I will never forget that day. My devotion and work in criminal justice is my way of helping out every little black boy, man, woman, and girl who continues to get the residue of Jim Crow and white supremacy dirt stuck in their eyes. It's hard to get out. You know why? I'll tell you why, because white people like my babysitter and the ignorance of men like you, don't want to get it out. Then you have the audacity to fix your mouth to say they bring all of their woes and hardship on themselves. Well, your white privilege has you so very conditioned to believing that. I feel sincerely sorry for you. It couldn't possibly be that black people are socially, politically, and economically left out of equality verses what you have as a white man. It's not enough that lots of black people like Martin Luther King tried their best to get the white society to see black people as American citizens who only wanted the same human rights as their European brothers and sisters. Black people cannot do it alone. They have tried to handle it. Do you know anything about Black History? We need our own white people to step up! The root of the problem stems from European institutions and policies that we put in place, excluding black people. Wickedness and hatred have made itself way too greedy and comfortable in American culture, making money lusting in criminalizing, oppressing, and demonizing black people.

Guess what? Most white people know this is the truth. They feel uncomfortable about it. If you are not doing anything wrong, as a white person, you should not feel attacked. I am not talking about you. If the shoe fits wear it. I am definitely talking about you! I will gladly use my platform and influence to continue getting all of that dirt out of black people's eyes. I have been doing my best work of dirt removal. I will continue to do it. Oh, and this is going to shock you all. When I went to Duke University Law School, guess who I reconnected with? The little boy who I met at the park, playing in the dirt with. We graduated together. I was supposed to go to Harvard with John, but God told me to stay local. I understood why after I hooked back up with Damari. I named one of my boys Damari! His spirit is so calm. Damari is a partner at our firm, and we've been playing dirty for a long time now, taking dirt out of many eyes worldwide! How can we call black people and other people of color American citizens when they do not have the exact same rights as American citizens? BEWARE OF ANGEL WINGS EVERYWHERE

Lydia is being raised by a single mom. She is in the first grade. Her mom Linda has raised Lydia not to celebrate Halloween. She does not participate in any Halloween activities at her public school. On the day of Halloween her mom has a job interview. She tells Lydia to say a prayer for her in light of needing extra money for a car. She uses her bicycle as transportation for work. She works at a local shelter close to home. Lydia’s school is also in close proximity of their house. Lydia is a very understanding child. Some say she has been here before.

Linda: (Walking Lydia to school)
I love you Lydia! Have an awesome day! 
 
Lydia: (Smiling)
I love you too mama! I will be thanking God for your new job!
 
Linda catches a train and then a bus to get to her job interview. Her bike is allowed on public transportation. She needs her bike to ride the rest of the way in light of her bus route not taking her all the way to her interview. A lady decides to take a different route to work that day. She sees Linda riding her bike.
 
Victoria: (Driving by Linda rolling down her window)
Hello ma’am, it’s raining and cold. Do you need a ride somewhere? Where are you trying to go?

Linda: (Exhaustively)
Hello, yes ma'am I do! I have a job interview at a warehouse a few blocks away in 20 minutes. My name is Linda. I really need this job.

Victoria: 
Well, if you are not going to harm me, I will give you a ride there. You must have been praying. The warehouse I believe you are talking about is miles away. You wouldn’t have made it there on time. My name is Victoria.

Linda:
Yes, I was praying. I pray every day with my daughter. Thank you so much! No, I will not harm you I promise.

Victoria:(Dropping her off)
Okay, good luck. I hope you get the job Linda. I will be praying for you. Here is my card. If you can’t get back home, please call me. I will give you a ride home.

Linda: (Happily)
Thanks so much Victoria! You are an angel. God bless you!

Linda goes to her interview and she gets hired. She calls Victoria when her interview is over to share the good news. Victoria congratulates Linda. She tells her she will send an Uber to take her home. Linda goes straight to her daughter school with the good news.

Linda: (Excitedly)
Guess what Lydia! I got the job! They hired me on the spot, right after my interview. I had an angel by the name of Victoria give me a ride there and she gave me a ride back home. 

Lydia:
Hey mom, you're here early. You mean a complete stranger gave you a ride to your interview and back home? God is the best God ever! I am so happy for us! I am not that surprised. I was praying all day! I knew those two twins was going to come by and help you out. They are so sweet to us. You know they love taking their time with the "MOST HIGH" children. Thank you Lord! Mama, if we did celebrate Halloween today, I would be Victoria. She is my new hero!

Linda: 
Yes, praise the Lord baby! Grace and mercy was with me today. Or the twins as you call them.
 
Miracles mixed with angels, love, mercy, and grace was all up in Linda's face! :0)

CITIZENS OF GOODNESS IN YOUR FACE 

A single mother was in Wal-Mart shopping for snacks. Her two little girls needed  snacks for their field trip the next day. The mother really didn’t have the money to provide them with snacks but she didn’t want them to go without having snacks.
 
The Mother: (Calling home)
Hey mama, can you please ask the girls which chips they want? I forgot. I am at Wal-Mart right now.
 
The Grandmother:
Okay hold on for one second. They said Doritos Spicy Nachos and Rold Gold Cheddar Pretzels.
 
The Mother:
Okay, thanks mom!
 
The mother goes down the aisle where all of the chips are. She locates the chips her daughters want.
 
The Mother: (Talking to herself)
Darn, these bags of chips are so pricey. I don’t think I have enough money for both bags. I should put one of these bags back and have them share a bag of chips? Doritos or Pretzels?  
 
The mother walks to the cash register to purchase the chips. There is a man in line before her. She places her two bags of chips on the register.
 
The Man:
Hey, is that all you have ma’am? You can put that with my stuff. I will pay for it.
 
The Mother:
Thank you so much Sir! That is so sweet, so nice of you. This is such a blessing. Thank you, thank you! I was not expecting this. God bless you!
 
The Man:
You’re so welcome. Yes, this is your blessing. Have a good afternoon. God bless you too!
