1) The comments and touches of the hair. (We don't like you touching our hair at all.)
2) You are so pretty for a black girl. (You are not the standard of beauty. I know. you've been accustomed to being the standard but not anymore., scoot on over and share the stage because we already planted seeds of beautiful black girls in the world).
3) Your skin is so dark. Can I touch it? Wow. (Don't believe the lies of your forefathers. We are real human beings, just like you, but with glorious skin)
4) They are quick to offer information about them having black friends or dating one. (um so what who cares, we do not care, you get no points from us)

Did you notice the pain and disappointment in the mother's face? It's because the mom talked to her daughter about things pertaining to situations like this. She could've lost her daughter. Men, hang around with your daughters more. Your presence as a King-Papa is very necessary. Your role in her life is crucial. As if parents and guardians don't have enough to deal with in the world of highly rated violence, sex-trafficking, and kidnapping. The young teenager uttered the words "sorry mom." What if she never got the chance to say, "sorry mom."
I don't know a lot of my ancestors because nothing was preserved for me to know about them. If there are not any photos, videos or stories shared with me they are forgotten. This post really makes you think about things like this. How will you be remembered. Will you have a big thick bloodline to ensure your kids keep your legacy alive when you were around? Will you be rich and famous, and the world will never forget you? Do you have anything put in place to always be remembered when you are gone? Do you care about this?
