​FATHERLY LOVE ATTACKS

A family gathering is taking place for the first time in their home on Father’s Day. The family usually goes out to celebrate. This year the children expressed an interest in preparing a gourmet meal for their dad. The oldest turned 16 recently. She is thinking about dating and has her parent’s permission. The other two kids are boys; ages 8 and 12. The wife and children sit around the dinner table with the father to express their love to him before they eat.

THE WIFE: (Excitingly)
This dinner turned out so nice! Everything is perfect! I want to thank this family for so much love and unity. Cheers to the man of the hour for all his love and support to our family! I love you! I appreciate you! I am very grateful to have you as my partner for as long as God wills it so. I will give you the second part of my love speech later on tonight!

THE FATHER: (Smiling)

8 YEAR OLD:
Well, because of you dad my bones are so strong! You really have good genes dad. I have all these little girls chasing after me all the time at school. They never catch me. I’m made up of your strength. I want to thank you dad for almost everything I have; everything that I am. Somethings I have to give credit to mom for. I love you dad! Cheers! Happy Father's Day.

12 YEAR OLD:
My heart bleeds so much love because I have you as my father who has shown me love. Thanks dad for every trip together, your time, your wisdom and your example. Thank you for showing me that I can be sensitive and tough; respectful and to always use my voice intelligently. I love you dad!

DAUGHTER:
I hope you like the dinner we prepared for you. I did most of the cooking. I am very thankful to have a man in my life who shows me how important I am daily; who provides and guides me even when it’s hard; who prays with me and for me; taking good care of our family. Thank you for your unconditional love, support and protection dad! I love you so much!

8 YEAR OLD:
Yeah, protection from those boys you are about to start dating. 

DAUGHTER:
Don't worry! As wonderful as dad is to mom, I will make sure to find a young man like dad.

12 YEAR OLD:

Good Morning Papa
He came in late from work annoyed, exhausted and upset by something. He greeted his family (wife & kids), ate his dinner and went to bed. She studied him to help sprinkle her LOVE on his agitation.

Good Morning Mama
As he woke in the middle of the night (for some reason) he noticed his favorite mama's scent on her knees next to him. He felt so much better with renewable strength. He picked her up; kissing her ever so gently on the lips, and put her on the mama side of their bed. He smiled at God and thanked God for his sweet peace. :0)

MOMMY EXAMPLES (FOUR YEARS)

Beatrice Nila is a fun-loving 4 year old preschooler. She is extremely talkative and super friendly like most girls her age. Her mom is a teacher at their local high school in their community. Each day as Mrs. Nila drops Beatrice off to school, they customarily say a little ritual to each other before Beatrice enters her building for school. Mrs. Nila notice Beatrice haven’t done it in about a week. She is curious as to why.

MRS. NILA:
How was your day Beatrice?

BEATRICE:
Okay, how was yours?

MRS. NILA:
I had a wonderful day! Your brothers told me the strangest thing last night. They said you haven’t been into their rooms to work their nerves all week. Why not?

BEATRICE: (Sadly)
Yeah, I know. I have a lot on my mind mom. Like lots!

MRS. NILA: (Chuckling)
I know something is going on in that little beautiful mind of yours. You don’t think I noticed that about my baby girl? What’s troubling you Beatrice? Brandon, Ben, and Brian sure do miss you coming into their rooms.

BEATRICE: (Smiling)
Thank you mom. I miss them too!

MRS. NILA:
Why have you been acting so distant from those who love you? 

BEATRICE:
We got a new student in our class last week. She is very mean, mom! She always snatches toys from everybody. She throws toys at people too! She makes fun of my glasses and calls me names like nerd girl.

MRS. NILA: (Calmly)
Did you tell Mrs. Armstrong? I am going to send her an email. I will call her in the morning to make sure the bullying stops. What do you think the word nerd means?

BEATRICE:
Yes, I told Mrs. Armstrong. She always separates Ana from all the other kids. I know nerd means that I am very smart. Ana use it in a negative way.
 
MRS. NILA:
Beatrice when you are around us at home how do you feel? Do you feel like there is good energy or bad energy? Yes, you are very smart. That is a good thing sweet heart. You can't make something like that negative. It is a good thing to be smart.

BEATRICE:
I feel good energy when I am at home; especially from dad. I just bat my eyelashes and dad gives me all the love and attention I want! I feel love from Brandon, Brian and Ben too. They put up with me because they love me. Mom, you are kind and nice to me always. I am blessed with your love!

MRS. NILA:
Yes, that is good Beatrice. When you go to school tomorrow separate yourself from the bad energy and play with those kids who have good energy, okay. You know we don’t hang out with mean people. Stay positive. You’re too sweet for negative people. If she comes up to you just walk away and go play with someone else. If anything happens, I mean anything, tell Mrs. Armstrong or an adult. I will definitely talk to your teacher about this.

BEATRICE:
Okay, thanks mom! You're the best mom ever!

It is a good morning. Beatrice creeps into her brothers’ rooms to wake them up with her loud sounds; getting on their nerves. Mrs. Nila drops Beatrice off to school. They say their morning ritual before Beatrice gets out of the car.

BEATRICE: (Smiling)
Mama, what is the role of your mouth for?

MRS. NILA: (Smiling)
To stain your cheeks with kisses this week! Have a good morning and day Nila!

BEATRICE: (Blowing a kiss)
Thanks mama! You have a good morning and day too! See you later.

School is over and Beatrice had a great day! Mrs. Nila picks up Beatrice and her teacher ask her to wait a few minutes while she watch her kids enter on the bus to go home. Mrs. Armstrong wants to talk to Mrs. Nila about Beatrice.

MRS. ARMSTRONG:
Hey Mrs. Nila, sorry I didn’t get a chance to call you back last night after speaking with you so briefly. You wouldn’t believe what happened today.

MRS. NILA:
No problem, thanks for responding to my text message. What happen? Is everything okay?

MRS. ARMSTRONG:
Yes, everything is fine! I just didn’t want to say this in front of Beatrice. As I stated last night, I often have to separate Ana from the other kids because of her behavior. She has a lot of issues that we are working on. Today, I didn’t have to do anything. We had our usual play time today.  Beatrice had a toy she was playing with. Ana came over as I was observing and snatched the toy out of Beatrice hands. Then she called her a nerd girl. Beatrice looked Ana straight in her eyes and said “I DON’T NEED YOUR NEGATIVITY TODAY” and she walked away! Beatrice started playing with some of the other kids. The rest of the day went very well. Ana stayed away from Beatrice. It was so funny. I wish you could have seen it.

MRS. NILA: (Laughing)
Oh my goodness, good for her. We talked about that last night. I am so proud of her!

MRS. ARMSTRONG:
I am too! It seems like Beatrice set the tone in the room with her positive energy. A lot of the kids were afraid of little Ana but not anymore. Ana stopped acting like a bully. I pray it stays this way. I have to call Ana's mom as well. She will be pleased.

Positive energy can light up a room. Teach them early to snuggle up close with positive energy! :0)

Make It Funky (James Brown Edition)

Linda Weely is a mother of extraordinary intellectuals who happen to be 5 year old fraternal twins. Her husband Mr. Leon Weely is a high ranking Sergeant in the United States Navy. He is stationed in Norfolk Virginia. His family resides in Alexandria Virginia. It is Linda’s birthday and her sister-in-law (Mara) has volunteered to watch the twins (Lola & Tolan) so Mr. and Mrs. Weely can enjoy a night out together. Mara hasn’t seen Lola & Tolan since they were 2 years old. Linda articulates to Mara that she and Mr. Weely will be home in the morning for breakfast to surprise the twins.

Linda:
Thank you so much for sacrificing your weekend to watch the twins for us Mara. It’s been so long since I’ve been on a romantic date with Leon. They are upstairs brushing their teeth. Let me go upstairs and get them.

Mara:
I can’t wait to see them! I was wondering if you didn’t mind me having company. My boyfriend wanted to stop by.

Linda:
Yeah, sure! Please be mindful that Lola and Tolan are very advanced. They soak up every piece of information that crosses their path. They are like 5 years old, going on 25. Keep your eye on those two.

Mara:
I understand, thanks Linda!

The twins enter the living room and jumps on Aunt Mara attacking her in love-hugs.

Lola & Tolan: (Simultaneously)
Aunt Mara! We missed you! (Hugging and kissing her)

Mara:
I can’t believe you guys still remember me. I'm so thankful we’ve talked on the telephone to keep in touch. I haven’t seen you since you were 2 years old. Where does the time go? You smell so good!

Lola:
It was prohibited for us to Skype you. Dad was not a fan of that. You look the same; still pretty. I actually helped Tolan remember how you would look. As the older child, I have to keep him on track.

Tolan: (laughing)
Don’t believe her aunt Mara. I can recall you always singing to us. That is how I remembered you.

Mara:
Oh my goodness. Yes, I did! I can’t believe you remembered me singing to you Tolan.

Linda:
I am getting ready to meet your dad for our date. Give me some love before I go. (Tolan and Lola hug and kiss her.)

Lola & Tolan:
Is dad coming back home with you? It would be so nice to see dad. He has been absent for 3 days from us.

Linda:
No, I don’t think so. He has a very important job to do. I don’t know when dad is coming back home…sorry!

Lola & Tolan: (Holding hands looking sad)
Please tell dad to call us and leave us a message. Have a good time mom.

Linda:
Thank you! Mara, call me on my cell phone if you need anything.

Mara:
Sure will! Do they always talk at the same time? Wow, I never noticed it.

Linda:
Yes, they do that a lot! They have a very close spiritual connection.

Scene changes…the twins are in their room playing. Mara is in the next room across from the twins with her boyfriend Miguel.

Lola: (Knocking)
Aunt Mara, we’re hungry. Can Tolan and I have a late night snack?

Tolan:
What did she say?

Lola:
Nothing! I knocked and knocked, but didn’t get an answer.

The next morning Mara is cooking breakfast. Lola and Tolan are enjoying it. They get a surprise!

Mr. Weely: (Smiling)
Good morning Tolan! Good morning Lola!

Lola & Tolan: (Soaking in happiness)
Mom, dad, you’re home! Mom you tricked us!

Tolan: (Hugging his dad tight)
Thank you dad! I love you! You rock for serving our country! I'm proud of you.

Lola: (Kisses her dad on the cheek)
I missed you dad, have a seat by me. Eat some breakfast with us. You are the best surprise ever!

Mr. Weely:
I will be home with my favorite kids all week and next week. We have some make-up plans.

Lola & Tolan: (Joyful)
Yes…yes…yes! We can’t wait dad! Thank you! Thank you mom!

Linda:
How was last night? Were you two on your best behavior? Did aunt Mara take good care of you?

Mara:
We had fun. Everything went well. They were angels.

Tolan: (Food in mouth)
Yes, it was a bonzer! Aunt Mara was very busy doing it with her boyfriend, Miguel.

Mr. & Mrs. Weely: (Surprisingly)
Um…what are you talking about?

Lola:
Mom and dad, aunt Mara was having sex with her boyfriend. We heard them. Neither of us could sleep because of all the noise.

Tolan:
Sex is when 2 consenting adults care about each other, like you and dad. You guys care all the time!

Lola:
Aunt Mara’s boyfriend really cares about her. He cared about her all night long!

Mr. & Mrs. Weely: (Blank-stare…speechless)

Dad! Am I in some kind of trouble?

Dad:
No! Sweet pea, why on earth would you think that? Is there something that I should know? How was school?

His Little Love:
Well, I know when you and mom have tuff decisions to make, you always write things down so you can go over your thoughts. I was doing some homework on the computer and knocked over your briefcase by accident. As I began to pick up the papers that fell out, I noticed my name was in your notes. I had an exciting day at school today. We are planning our 8th grade dance. Why is my name on some of your documents?

Dad:
OH! Those are my notes from about 2 weeks ago. I had an educational engagement to attend. I spoke on Social Emotional Learning to a few schools who attended the conference. It had to be over two thousand people there. I talked about you the entire time. That is why your name is in my notes. You were absent at my conference but you was present in my heart!

His Little Love:
Omg! Dad, you used me as some of your examples in your speech? Thank you! :)

Dad:
I sure did! In fact, you are famous to about 2,000 more people that know how special you are to me! :)

DADDY’S LITTLE GIRLS (SURPRISE)

The Girls: (Calling their daddy)
Daddy! Daddy! Can you come home today before you go to your next meeting please?

Daddy:
Wait a minute! Hey my darlings. How did you all get this private number? Where is mommy? Why are you all whispering? I can barely hear the two of you.

The Girls:
Mommy is with junior. She has been acting mean to us all day. We really need you to come home dad. Please take mommy in the room to relax her. She has been yelling at us all day. We have to whisper so we won’t get caught calling you. Please help us! It’s torture being with your woman, today.

Daddy: (Chuckling)
Please put your mom on the phone. I will be home to relax mommy real soon! How on earth did the two of you get this number?

The Girls:
Mom picked us up from school today. We only went for a half of a day. She said she wanted to teach us how to clean our rooms properly because next year when we go to the first grade we will be doing it ourselves. Dad what is our last name? We are our daddy’s babies, right? Getting your private number was easy. We saw it in mom’s phone book and called you. We cannot put mom on the phone because we will get in trouble. Please come straight home. We really need a hug right now daddy! We don’t know what’s wrong with mommy. She has never acted this way. Is mommy on medication? Please come see about us. We love you so much dad. We miss you too!

Daddy: (His heart is melting)
I did have some very important meetings to attend. I will cancel all my meetings and come straight home.

The Girls: (Melancholy)
Do you promise daddy? Promise us, okay! We need you!

Daddy: I promise! I am very concerned about my family! I love you girls! You are my darlings, my strong little soldiers. Do what mommy says until I get home so we can straighten everything out. Daddy will fix it!

The Girls:
Okay, okay! We will. We have to go dad. Mommy is calling us. See you later with love on top!

Daddy:
Okay I’ll be home in a minute. Hold on okay!
Daddy meets with his staff. He cancels all his meetings. He rushes home doing about 100 on the highway. He pulls up and notices weirdness.

Daddy: (Anxious and perturbed)
As he reaches to get his key out his pocket to unlock the door all he hears is…SURPRISE!

Mommy: (Hugging & Kissing Daddy)
Surprise to you! We got you…we got you good! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! I know how crazy you are about your girls. I had to use them. You deserve this moment. I love my baby’s daddy. (Smiling)

The Girls: (Dramatic Smiles)
Ha a-haa dad! We gotcha dad! Mommy said no one could surprise you. We love you so much dad. Happy birthday! Thank you for working so hard for us and always making us feel safe and loved.

Daddy: (In tears)
How did…how did…um wow! I am a little taken back by this. How did you get all these people in here? Where did you all park? Thank you to everybody!

Daddy was totally shocked. Mommy and the girls blew his mind. His mom and dad helped out! Some of his staff was in on it too. His family and all his cousins came to his surprise party. He enjoyed himself and relaxed with family and friends in pounds of LOVE!

An angel appears: (The angel brings both parents together)

Little Broken Heart of Joy

Christmas morning has arrived but 5 year old Dora has something heavy on her mind. She sits at the breakfast table in tears. Her mother and father are clueless. They want to know what happened to their little girl. Well…

Mama:
Dora! What’s wrong honey? You haven’t touched any of your food. I made your favorite. Why did you place the custom made t-shirt that we got for Mother’s Day in our room? I don’t understand Dora. I need for you to please talk to me. Why did you throw the shirt on the floor? 

Dora: (Pouting, silent)

Mama:
You're not going to say anything? Did I do something wrong? Are you not feeling well? Santa brought you lots of love under the tree. You don't want to open any of your presents? That's not like you!

Dora: (Sobbing)
I don’t want anything from Santa! Dad can I talk to you in private, please?

Papa:
You sure can Dora, how can I help you? You can trust me! What happened?

Dora:
Please give this note to mama for me. I can’t do it. Dad please don’t read it. It will hurt you bad! I don’t want you to be sad, like me.

Papa:
Anything for you Dora, I won’t read it.
(Dora’s father gives the note to the mother and they both chuckle)

Mama:
New man? What are you talking about Dora? Your father is the only man for me!

Dora:
Not True! Dad I saw mama kissing Santa Claus last night. They kissed for a long time too! Santa was squeezing mom's behind dad. What's so funny?

Papa:
Dora, Santa Claus was not feeling well. He asked me if I could fill in for him last night to deliver a few gifts in our neighborhood. Santa wanted to make sure that all your friends and the kids on our block would get their gifts on time. It was me kissing mommy! I love mom very much!

Dora:
Wow dad! You're like Santa's helper! I get it! You saved Christmas. I love you dad! I thought we were going to have to leave mama. Thank goodness!

Mama:
I told you, your dad is the only one for me. We thought you were sleeping. I'm glad you told us Dora. Our family is staying together. Dora why did you throw that shirt on the floor?

Dora:
Well, because when we brought the shirts you had one piece of the heart and I had the other piece of the heart. My heart was broken so I didn't want the shirt any more mom. I thought we were not going to be together as a family. I love my family! You and dad are my life!

Mama: (Smiling)
Oh, Dora please forgive me. I am sorry for that. We love you so much Dora. How does your heart feel now?

Dora:
My heart feels so much better now mama! You and dad are together so my heart is healed! I'm about to open my presents now! :0)

Itty-Bitty Understandings

Big brother is very upset at his mom and dad because at 17, he believes he has the right to stay out all night at a party in light of it being his senior year in high school. His parents do not agree and won’t allow him to go to the party. In his mind, he is thinking about being disobedient and going any way. His 5 year old kindergarten sister walks pass his room and hears him talking to his friend wining and weeping about his parents telling him no.

Little Sister: (Knocking…slowly entering)
Hey big brother! What’s wrong with you?

Big Brother: (Wiping his face)
Please just go away and leave me alone. Get out of my room! NOW!

Little Sister: (Pauses for a moment…in deep thought)
No! No! No! I’m not leaving you! Noooo way Jose! Be mean to me all you want!
(She runs up to him and hugs him tight…not letting go)

Big Brother: (Smiling)
Oh Boy, you are so dramatic! (He hugs her back)          

Little Sister: (Smiling)          
​Now that’s more like it. Sit over here by me on the bed and tell me all about it. Come on! What’s the matter?

Big Brother: (Shaking his head)
You wouldn’t understand; trying to sound like grandma…huh.

Little Sister:
Well your eyes are red. I love you Big Brother. Tell me what it is. It’s killing me not to know! My bones hurt and stuff. 

Big Brother:
Mom and dad won’t let me go to my senior party. They think it’s too dangerous for me to be there. I am 17 now. They are such paranoid weak parents. All my other friends are going. I should just go.

Little Sister: (Pausing…thinking)
Hmmm, so you think our mom and dad are weak parents? I don’t know what that P word means though, but mom and dad is so not weak. Big Brother they are strong parents. As kids, there are things we may not understand. Maybe mom and dad are trying to protect you from something. That is what parents do. I for sure know that they love you. They pay for all of your sports. They feed you. Look at this nice house we live in. Mom and dad always hug you and show love to you. Mom makes special meals for you. Our parents celebrate us when we reach our goals. Mom said she was taking me to McDonald's next month for getting all A’s on my Math test. Our parents take very good care of us Big Brother, can’t you see that. They are strong, not weak. They love you so much! They teach us right from wrong. My teacher at school said all children don’t have parents like that. We are so blessed to have them Big Brother. 

Do you know that mom and dad…well really mom did all the work, but mom baked me and you in her oven for 9 months and we came out just fine and on time; not burnt or anything like that. Dad did help out a little bit…just a little bit but that is a lot of work. Only strong parents that love their kids can do that. So, I hope you are not going to that party. If you do go and something bad happens to you, I won’t have a Big Brother no more because MOM AND DAD WILL KILL YOU! I’m really going to need you to survive your teenage years Big Brother. I need you!

Big Brother: (In shock)
Um, how old are you again? Don’t worry; I am not going to that party. Thanks! I see your point. I could really use another hug Little Sister. You’re such a little angel.

Little Sister: (Very happy)
