Criminal justice information can be a delightful fragrance when you mix it with
the right Appeal. If you reside in Queens, New York please pay attention to the fact of reforms going on with the cash bail system. It really needs to end, die, stop. All of the above. It is time for transparency! We do not have any more time left to be stuck in an antediluvian system of unfairness. California is also getting in on the criminal justice reform groove. Did you guys know that Governor Gavin Newsom recently signed six new laws into action? Convicted felons can serve on juries after paying their debt to society according to Senate Bill 310. American citizens deserve to have restoration. There is much information to share with you about matters concerning criminal justice laws and cases in our society. I am thinking about doing weekly Appeals. If you are studying criminal justice or are in law school, I encourage you to visit the Appeal.
Deandre Somerville woke up late and he missed his opportunity to serve as a juror in the state of Florida on a civil case. He didn’t follow-up to let the court know why he didn’t appear in court. Then the police showed up at his house. The Vox notes that Judge Kastrenakes sentenced Deandre Somerville to 10 days in jail. He also had the nerve to fine the young man and order him to 150 hours of community service. If this had been any other American, like a young European man, there would have been more compassion and hugs. Judge Kastrenakes claims he was trying to teach Deandre a lesson. Yeah right! Miss me with all that bull crap Judge Kastrenakes. He was wrong for imposing such harshness towards this young man. Thankfully, concern citizens and folks with influence rejected the judge for his nonsense. People are still calling Judge Kastrenakes out for his foolishness. I thought judges are supposed to lead with a class of sagacity. His compassion was surly missing in action.
Joshua Brown was killed by his apartment complex a few days after he testified in the Amber Guyger case on behalf of the State of Dallas,Texas. It was a very brave thing to do. During the trial Joshua broke down and cried in light of being a major witness for the Jean family. I believe he expressed how he feared for his life. Why wasn't he protected? The media and the Dallas Police have tried to tarnish Brown's 28 years on this earth by bringing up his past. It seems rather peculiar how his life ended. There are lots of speculations. The truth always comes to the light. I am sure someone saw something. Brown lost his life, trying to do what was right.
Celebration time mixed with inspirational warfare and black excellence has filled the atmosphere at the new Tyler Perry Studios. Tyler Perry purchased 330 acres of land to produce and loose his truth into this world. The land he purchased used to be a Confederate Army base in Atlanta where they wanted black folks to remain slaves. This is such a great moment in history! His legacy for sure will remain in the belly of longevity.
Black folks are positively living in their natural origin by embracing their natural hair. Natural hair is quite beautiful. There was a little black girl who was a model for H&M. The picture she took rubbed some folks the wrong way. Some felt like her hair had not been combed for the photo shoot. H&M responded that they wanted to feature the young girl in her natural element. I get it! In the past H&M has been culturally insensitive with their black models in the past.
If you call yourselves black, Afro-American, African American, or part of the human race. You are beautiful and your history matters. This is Bill Cosby at his best. This is a must see video about Mr. Cosby spitting the truth about black history. It was stolen. A lot of black history is lost. There really isn’t a need to be ignorant about your own history when we have all this technology, libraries, and folks like our elders to keep us intoxicated with it. May you all be free with your own history!
