Well, ever since I can remember melanated or black women have been poppin' their collars for freedom and justice like a three 6 Mafia Hip Hop song. It is way pass the hour of late fees and tardiness, for a black woman to be part of this American judicial system. White men are not the only representation of America, but they monopolize and capitalize from it. The judicial system has always been in favor of white men. You have never seen an all-black jury. You can look at the history of America and see the evidence of an all-white jury. If we had Wonders of Thunder in place, half of the injustices that are empowered by racism would cease. Black women have been used and abused for their true democracy. They are still fighting to prove, to be, and to exist! President Joe Biden would not even be the president if it wasn't for the labor of black women. Women of Wonder and Thunder, like black women, have paid their dues. America has not! Despite what a few delusional knuckle heads or congressmen may express, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, Judge J. Michelle Childs, Judge Candace Jackson Akiwumi, Supreme Court Justice (California) Leondra Krueger, Judge Holly A. Thomas, Sherrilyn Ifill, Eunice Lee and Welhelmina "Mimi" Wright have all paid their dues.
A qualified black woman's aver presence is imperative to kill, get rid of, do away with or remove white supremacy from these American court systems. Any of the possible black women being considered for the United States Supreme Court is going to be good for all Americans but specifically black Americans. They need more melanated judges sprinkled in every county and jurisdiction to help curve policy on mass incarceration and criminal justice. Policy affects the lives of tax paying American people in every subject. Incidentally, you do know black folks pay taxes too! We have to implore the right women on the bench that will see all people as human beings. There are too many racist white judges who are never impartial as they were hired to be. They have no qualms tampering with the lives of black and brown people's constitutional rights! We need Black Women on the Supreme Court! We need them everywhere to help change this judicial system. The black community have received unwarranted pain and sickness due to a judge's racist views or biased lifestyle. Those kinds of people should not be on the bench. They allow unfair practices with the prosecutors, and they never intervene when they know things are not right!
There are folks who believe there isn't any racism anymore and black people are just whining about nothing. Ok! Really? Where have you been? How can a group of people who remain resilient with "We Shall Overcome" overtones stuck in the background of their lives, have real liberty and justice for all when Jim Crow won't go and white supremacy codes are kept in place, against them, heavy on their necks? Yes, they are optimistic and resolute in their goals and destiny. Why do we continue to have and hold two separate but not equal justice systems? Why? Wonders of Thunder are needed in every court but especially on the Supreme Court! Representation is way overdue!
Suppression has been up their sleeves way before Adam and Eve. European southern men like Mitch McConnell will never know what it feels like to have his voting rights taken away or threatened. He has always benefitted from being a white man his entire life. He does not have a clue about the fight and struggle it took for black folks to have voting rights. Those wypipo who agree with Mitch do not understand and some don't care but just think about it! If your ancestors or folks in your European bloodline were bit and attacked by dogs, killed and beat by the police just for trying to vote, you would view things differently. You might try being empathetic towards others. Fear of competition and unrealistic stigmas of black people will always keep white men like Mitch stuck in his southern ways. Mitch said what he said! No one should be surprised by him. If it was left up to white men like Mitch, every town or city would have only white folks representing them, despite the location being predominately black. The use of a filibuster is an old southern racist tactic. Representation will always matter! What black folks should be doing is getting involved in public policy that will affect them locally and nationally. Get hyped over your own voting rights!
Judge Lisa Godbey Wood crushed the hopes of the father and son plans to kick it in the federal prison. The McMichaels were supposed to plead guilty of a hate crime to avoid life in prison in the state prison and do 30 years in federal instead. Now they will go to federal trial. We all know it was racially motivated. They most likely have been getting away with murdering black people more than once. I keep telling you that most black people have something special in them when it comes to bigots. They can quickly discern the white folks who are racist just by seeing the look on their faces. When a person has that spirit on them God will reveal it. We see you. You're transparent to us.
The part I'm concerned about is the federal prosecutor, Tara Lyons. She said, the plea deal was super great because it "powerfully advances the larger interest of justice." What larger interests is she talking about? Would she try her best to give other men who are not white the same deal? Would she use the same energy and effort as a federal prosecutor if the men were, I don't know, black? I doubt it!
Get Out is a movie all black folks need to see. Even our young people should watch that movie. Peter Spencer was a young man that joined his white co-worker on a hiking trip in his cabin, in the woods. All of those clue words should have told him something was up. Cabin, woods, only black person, um no thank you Bill! Dear black men, every co-worker is not your friend! There were other white people hanging out in the cabin but somehow Peter ended up dead with 9 bullets in him. This appeared to be some kind of pre-meditated hate crime. There is no way you should be going places with any co-worker that you really don't know into the woods. Please black people, be mindful of being the only person that look like you when you are going and hanging out with folks that do not look like you, or who you really don't know. Parents, talk to your kids now. You have to start sharing these stories with your family. Unfortunately, black folks have to be on alert with their own people and also white racist people who are sacrificing black men for their own motives. Did you read the article? People Magazine said the people who were in the cabin with Spencer were questioned but they were ALL released. That is white supremacy 101! You and I both know if those were black men, they would have been thrown in jail immediately. When the accused are not black, but yes white, they tell us, be patient, don't rush to judgement, we have to do an investigation. When that skin complexion is darker you did it! Then they lock our men and boys up! Be careful! This world is crazy!
If you have been rocking (on beat please) and grooving to this Sancti Fly Mama tune you already know how I feel about celebration cards and memes. It's one of my signatures. Hallmark cards is giving away free Black History cards for the month of February. Only one million cards. After that, no more will be free. Hurry up, don't wait until the last minute. Thanks Hallmark.
Let's just keep it at 100%. Jason Van Dyke is a man whose forefathers wrote all the laws for. They predestined it for white men like him. This is why we need more melanated people as lawyers, prosecutors, judges and in policy. This is how you equalize these situations. We know a black officer would be in jail longer. Yes, we should be against Jason getting his slap on the risk when this system lust to have no mercy or leniency on our boys and men. They don't care about destroying our families with the unjust sentences and corrupt plea deals. They care about Jason Van Dyke kids being without their father for too long. They care about his wife not having to raise her family as a single mother. Jason is not new to this behavior. I'm not going to lie. If he was my dad or my uncle, God answered my prayers! I pray for our melanated sons, men, and family members to get the same treatment Van Dyke, Rittenhouse and other white men continue to get. Bring it on! Slice that time! Bring our family members home!
As I always state, if you work in the legal field, in criminal justice, or are law students, please subscribe to The Appeal. If you are parents of melanated kids, get hooked up with The Appeal! If you have any family members affected by incarceration, policing, politics, and prosecutors, you really need to subscribe to The Appeal. They keep you abreast and informed on things you would not normally hear about in the mainstream media.
