In my community we say, "what's up cuz, or how are you doing cuz?" It's short for cousin. This organization is leaking in inspirational warfare for our young people and the world. Give your children some of these knowledgeable treats. It's very healthy for their minds. I actually had an opportunity to meet members of Rise Above. They came to my town and set up their mobile trucks. Members of my community were able to tour an awesome array of history, and they allow you to watch a short film. They use the story of the Tuskegee Air Men to inspire all the young people in this world to overcome adversities in their lives. This is worth having in your town or city.
If you believe that your children are the future and they are, push them in this great direction! What are you waiting on? Do it! Congresswoman, Robin L. Kelly has a newsletter that I encourage you to join if she represents you. Kelly initiated a Congressional Youth Cabinet (CYC) to get our young people involved in public service and policy. If you have children in high school or know kids who are in their junior and senior year, please encourage them to apply for this opportunity. It most likely will aid them in their future endeavors as leaders. Yes, it will, hint, hint.
The deadline to apply for a Congressional Youth Cabinet member has been extended to August 23. You can apply here.
Boys and girls plus ladies and gentlemen pay attention but don't be so easily infected with distractions. Yes, there are things we can all agree on that are very questionable. Like how in the world did the young man ease on down that yellow brick road, and land on a rooftop on the Secret Service watch? People were injured and one person was killed so please be mindful of the things you say on social media regarding this failed attempt to assassinate Donald Trump?
Naomi Campbell is a brown skin mama with gurl power floating out of her. This woman has created a masterpiece of her entire career for you to be part of the history. Gone-gurl.
There is so much in stake in the upcoming elections. We still have to have faith. If you are working in the criminal justice arena or in any form of law enforcement, are students in law school, or enjoy soaking up knowledge, please subscribe to The Appeal. We wouldn't even know about a lot of the injustices hiding out in the black and brown skin areas of our neighborhoods if the reporters from The Appeal didn't expose it all. Stay in the know! Please support them.
Life is definitely a long shadow of short. This young man got drafted into the NFL to play for the Minnesota Vikings and never got a chance to experience being a professional athlete. He had a terrible car accident and died. Stories like this one fortifies appreciation of life and for us to not take anything for granted. Tragic!
Brick City Vegan is taking you back to a plant-based lifestyle. Adenah Bayoh and
Emeka Onugha had a vision of love. Kind of like Mariah Carey(lol) but for their communities to drown and bleed in a little bit of healthier choices to din at. They opened up another vegan restaurant. They look so happy. The best part that gets into the serotonin of my heart is that it is black owned.
