Rather you want to have a shivoo or not about Bill Cosby being released from prison, that is your prerogative. The Supreme Court overturned Cosby's case because he wasn't supposed to go to jail in the first place. I will not and can't speak for all people in my community but the way they do us in this criminal justice system warrants some kind of joy that the system corrected their wrong. Whether he is rich or not, the District Attorney made a deal and did not honor it. No one is saying he isn't guilty of what he was alleged of doing. None of us were there. Half of the people commenting didn't read the deposition and wasn't at the deposition. This does not take away from the women who accused him. I bet if you looked up the cases the District Attorney has worked on and made deals with, how many white men did they do that to? Did that same man make deals with white men then throw them in jail. He doesn't deserve to serve as the District Attorney. Race always plays a role when it's us. If the shoe fits, yes, I am talking to you.
Robin Kelly tries her best to be transparent. I applaud her for efforts to at least do something about all of this gun violence snuggling up close to all of our communities. In her monthly newsletter, Kelly has proposed a new bill to break the cycle of violence. This bill will invest 6.5 billion over 8 years in targeting young people between the ages of 16-24 with training and jobs. We know black folks do not manufacture or regulate guns.
The year is 2021 and here we are fighting for our rights to vote again and white folks got a whole nerve to be mad or offended when we protest or don't stand for the flag. This is why! We are the only group of people to consistently go through these Jim Crow wicked episodes. The Supreme Court left the decision to the states to determine voting laws, which in my opinion was wrong. There is no way this should be happening! It will be in the history books.
Let me try not to lean to my own understanding on this one. First, I want to say this sista is as Sancti-Fly and dope as she wants to be. Nothing shall take her shade of grace or 'blacknificance' away. Sha' Carri Richardson was suspended from the United States Olympics Team for testing positive for marijuana. They love to act like they have your back until you do something as imperfect as going through a situation that affects your mental well-being. Take notes black people! Black women aren't supposed to be allowed to have mental illness or experience any traumas that plays a part in their lives or decisions. No empathy is given to those women, who cares right? These are the exact tactics used for many years against melanated people. Regardless if she conceded that she was wrong and learned from her mistake (which is a good move) It is NOT about a rule! How is it legal for all these wypipo to rally for marijuana to be legal in a bunch of these United States but keep our men locked up for selling weed? Then they have the audacity to suspend this black woman (winner) for testing positive. Again, and again I say unto you, this bs will not change until we change it economically and yes, politically. Shame on us as a people because they are doing naturally what they were taught to do. What are we doing? Ain't nothing changed but the players in these games.
Ms. McNeal was banned from playing in Tokyo due to an abortion she had which affected her mental health. This ordeal may end her career. Black people cannot do what they do and get away with it. I know my grandma wasn't the only one to share it. Our elders schooled us on this. There are still two Americas. Do not miss your doping test.
Berry said what she said! Why are wypipo so offended when melanated people stand against oppression which = white supremacy invited by the residue of racism. Is it really hurting you? She has a right to turn away from that flag if she wants to. It's not like a paucity of events. She is protesting because our people have to continue to fight and lobby for our American citizen rights. Why didn't these same "you got your damn nerve" wypipo get charged up and comment on all of the Europeans who raided the Capitol in January of this year. How about when we still have a system set in place where George Stinney and Emmett Till cases are rampant. Are they concerned about that? What about all the Karens harassing us, the attack on our hair, our mental health and our communities. Like Fannie Lou Hamer said, that flag is drenched in black blood. Until you walk in our shoes, please be quiet. You have no right to put your nose in our pain. What you need to do is try understanding why men and women like Berry feel the way they do.
I recently found out some very important news about The Appeal. They may not be the same because they are relaunching. I am hoping to find some of the exceptional journalism that exposed mass incarceration, all these racist policies in the criminal justice system and all the political shenanigans again. The real deal (Appeal) used to be worthy of good information to spread. I have to see what this new team is going to do before I use them on my platform.
