I absolutely love Malcolm X and all the things he stood up for as far as the ability to fight for the civil rights of melanated American citizens. He gave his life for a Sancti Fly Mama like me. I sincerely appreciate this man. In most communities, especially in the black community, I often heard how law enforcement played a paramount role in the assassination of Malcolm X. They murdered Malcolm X. As the HuffPost points out, an undercover brother (black officer) by the name of Mr. Ray Wood confessed to alleging the New York City Police and the FBI joined the underhanded forces of wickedness towards the death of Malcolm X. Mr. Ray Wood confided in his cousin Reggie Wood before he died.
The same liberty and justice tactics they used on Malcom X and his team are the same tactics they are using today against black people, specifically black men and boys. They were steadfast in their mission to lure Malcolm X security away from him so they could shoot to kill Malcolm X. Black folks have a long way to go as far as freedom being fully granted to them as American citizens.
Good mamas make hard decisions for a living. Shaina Bell is not alone in having to decide between childcare and working. The 24 year old mother from Ohio was arrested for leaving two of her children alone while she went to work, as noted in The Root. Thankfully, the person who obviously was watching Ms. Bell did not receive the gratification they were hoping for. It actually worked out for her good. There was a gofundme account created for Ms. Bell and her family. Now she can find a better place to live instead of living in a motel.
I know there are the perfectly hard working people who are quick to judge and proclaim how you raised your kids differently or how Shaina should have made better choices. You're probably right. You also have to remind yourselves that in reality, sometimes it doesn't work out the way you planned. So you adjust and do what you have to do in order to survive. I can personally attest to the fact lots of kids were at home alone growing up because women had to go to work. It was the norm in my community. The married women and single mothers all looked out for each other when I was growing up. It doesn't make Ms. Bell a bad mother for leaving her kids alone. I personally would not recommend it. She did what she had to do. You probably have a supportive network of family members to count on. You have to remember everyone doesn't have that. Also, people have pride and they don't seek out the help they need. I hope our congress is paying attention to this story. If you stay at home with your kids you are ridiculed for receiving help and assistance. If you try to work to provide for your family you get arrested. I hope we can collectively come to the aid of our family members that need our help. We have to bring back the village.
The Appeal gives the criminal justice professionals, law students, and politically active individuals the information imperative to their communities and needs. You can arm yourself with the knowledge to control the politics of interest to you. It's your right to be civilly involved. When you are introduced to good information it is in your favor to share it with all individuals that require it. This way, we can build stronger alliances and stay in the loop on matters of mass incarceration, voting rights, new laws, policing, politics, criminal justice, and all things in between, like these racist policies. I totally come against this terrible thinking. If I served my time I deserve to have an affordable living wage. As Americans you have to ask the questions that gets results and put in the work to rearrange the game. It is time to subscribe to The Appeal. What affects one affects us all.
This is why I have never been interested in watching The Bachelor show on the ABC network. Why do black people or melanated individuals always want to be part of something that wasn't meant for them? When the show, The Bachelor first aired, I thought it was a show exclusively for white people because that was the image I kept seeing being promoted. It's all good. The issue was born when other folks who were supporting the show saw that there were no representation of them. Then they started applying to be on the show which probably disturbed the producers and writers who did not really want them on The Bachelor or the Bachelorette shows. When black folks get their own version of any shows or movies they have been excluded from, people have the nerve to say something about it. I say create your own. Incidentally, it is natural to want to see people who look like you on a television show if you support it. There are a lot of black and brown people who give The Bachelor millions of views, therefore they want to apply to be on the show and to be fully represented. I still say, create your own.
The HuffPost indicates how Matt James called The Bachelor show host, Chris Harrison and the franchise out for not dealing with the racism they have had luring in the background. Matt is the first black male bachelor on the show. Why do we even have to say first black man or anything like that? Because it was intended to be a show predominately for and of white folks. Image is something that controls everything in our society! Matt James picked a woman on the show who he later found out had racist views not conducive to his blackness. Rachael Kirkconnell received the final rose from Matt James. They broke up. In Rachael's past (2018) she attended an antebellum fraternity party. Rachael also wasn't shy about adding Confederate flag likes on her social media. Chris Harrison tried to whitewash the incident and it wasn't well received by Matt James. Again, create your own. There is no need to force anything on anyone.
Just wave your hands in the air (force) where disparities are rich and prevalent everywhere in the United States Air Force. The HuffPost explains how the inspector general investigation of the United States Air Force found data stating how black people serving on their team are more likely than any other group to be arrested, investigated, face disciplinary actions, and discharged for behaving badly (misconduct). The inspector general December report concluded that race indifferences (racial disparity) actually exists. I have only a few words for this mention. Blank stare. Like really! Here is a huge secret. Melanated black people, already knew this. It's something we are used to.
This is the last official week of Black History Month but black people are black every month. America and other countries constantly remind us of who we are daily. Black History is American History, for the record. It is challenging to share the wealth of Black History when certain folks lust after keeping it hidden or they refuse to snuggle up close with the truth.
I'll try my best to make it plain. The reason why African Americans profess that black is beautiful is because we have to continue fighting for our human and civil rights to be and to exist. No other group of people have gone through unceasing racism, discrimination, and hate like black folks. In order to overcome we join a marathon of love and we tell each other how important we are. We proclaim that we matter. We understand this is a world dominated by Europeans. We still say our melanated blackness is beautiful. Europeans don't have to think twice about their worth because they know they are valued. They are set on a higher bar. It doesn't mean we dislike or hate anyone. It's our vitamins (We are Black) and minerals (We are Beautiful) we take to survive all the things thrown at us. It's our positive affirmation of breakthroughs. We are American citizens but there are two separate Americas. We are not treated as full-time Americans. No matter how we adapt our lifestyles, how many accolades we soar in, or our political affiliates we have. We are not looked and viewed as equals to the American machine. Look at some of the other articles I've discussed. When there is an entity that desires to tarnish your image, heritage, and culture you have to resist. Those in the political arena are aware of the violations black people relentlessly face, yet no laws have been passed to correct all of these racist issues America struggles with. We have our issues just like any other race or group of people. We keep on pressing for a higher mark of our freedom and liberation. We sing and say our black is beautiful because...
