The Caucasian man on the republican (Jason Mumpower) team couldn't sleep well at night because, oh my goodness, all of those kinky black people are running the City of Mason now. It is just not fair, right! Incidentally, Mr. Jason Mumpower is the state comptroller of Mason, Tennessee. Mr. Mumpower audaciously had the nerve to tell all of the black residents of Mason to release their power to him and his red cronies so the white folks can take over Mason. We know from our American history that white men love to be in control of all the things their forefathers gave them! Land and property are number one! Here is the problem with that. If a city is predominately black, what is so wrong with the leadership being reflective of the community? Absolutely nothing is wrong! You would NEVER have a city full of white folks living there as the majority and the leaders of the town be all black. White people would feel very uncomfortable, and they wouldn't like it at all. White people are very used to everything being about them. Wherever they go, they always see representatives of people who look like them from the police departments to the White House. How dare those colored, negros, African Americans, or black people want representation! Who do they think they are!
Black people stand proudly on the shoulders of their ancestors' anthem to reign in liberty and justice for all! Especially economically. The adversaries only want to cause trouble when money is involved. They think they deserve it and you do not! Pay attention because if it is happening in Mason, Tennessee I am sure that it is trying to creep into your neighborhoods. I pray the black leadership prevails in the City of Mason.
I understand those who are used to all of the judges and those people in public policy looking just like them, not seeing the big deal about the first black woman being appointed to the United States Supreme Court! They are so conditioned to the people holding positions of power being white. It's like second nature. I get it but there are those that do get it! It really is a big deal! We all know in the black community what it took for Ketanji to be placed at the highest seat in the land as a Supreme Court Justice. Ketanji Brown Jackson hard work and perseverance paid off. She definitely earned it! Nothing or no one can ever block or stop what God created for Ketanji Brown Jackson to rock. It's her dream come true. Ketanji rocked her magic with "grit and grace" at those hearings just like Mr. Booker so eloquently expressed. Ketanji is worthy! I enjoyed every consonant and vowel of Corey Booker's love and encouragement given to our first Judge Jackson, on the United States Supreme Court.
I just want to overemphasize how we cannot have a more perfect union when our babies in the black community are attacked by those in the dominant society who place discriminatory rules set aside for only certain people. This hairstyle in this Instagram post is part of a black girl's culture. Beads on braided beautiful hair may not be the standard for you but it's everything for black girls. It affirms how lovely she is. What are the rules? If those are the rules, all of those in the powerlifting competition has to follow the rules. It seems ridiculous. Why wasn't the information mentioned prior to the competition? Were the judges not aware of the beautiful brown skin girls competing in the competition on that day? There is nothing wrong with her wearing beads in her braids. Powerlifting is picking up weights. As you view the video you can see the young girl has short hair. The beads in her hair wouldn't be a distraction to her lifting weights. Did the coach forget to inform her team about acceptable hairstyles at the last minute? The girl was told to take the beads out of her hair, or she would be disqualified from the powerlifting competition. The video is evidence of members on her team helping her take out her beads. That's a shame! The black girl's hair in this post was nice and well-groomed.
I know there are kids or family members who are hard-headed. You lecture them and talk to them. They do the same wrong things. Don't give up if you are in that struggling chapter with a child or family member. Keep praying, seek counseling and get some intervention to help you. Continue to stay on the young men in your family. Show them this video. Let them know they can't hang out with just anyone. The person driving the black car in this situation is just as guilty. A lot of people have their gun licenses to carry. Tonya Rogers is added to that long list. She is the senior woman in the disturbing video. Protect black women! Some of these young people carjacking, and robbing folks are going to walk up on the wrong person one day. Keep warning them and praying for them so maybe they can turn their lives around. This isn't the way to go! Life is still about choices! We have to work for what we want, not steal it from others.
