There are some states that have a lot of issues. Illinois is definitely one of them. It is appalling to me how we send our scholar babies (all of our kids) mixed messages with some of the leadership we employ as public figures; as men and women who are charged with ensuring kakistocracy remains extremely low or at a zero. It’s such a poor example of management to come up with a quick fix in the State of Illinois because someone is NOT managing the funds correctly. I will proclaim relentlessly that absolutely nothing surprises me when it comes to any group of people. Although a lot of folks have a little bit of relief on their utility bills because of Corona, what will be the aftermath? When the total bill is due and incomes are low or zero what's next? We have a lot of new laws in Illinois this year. One of them is the state license sticker. This sticker went from $101 to $151. I don't know why this law was voted in. People cannot afford it! Especially, not now! This is why as believers we are trained and reminded to put our trust in a higher power (God).
It’s like no one has any conviction about anything anymore! When you take an oath to serve the public and use their tax dollars irresponsibly what do you think should happen? Does a person's life matters if they are incarcerated? Do they deserve to die to a virus because there's so many inmates infected? If it was your family member maybe not, right? A balanced budget is foreign in this era. Maybe during these troubling times, public officials should not get bonuses and raises if there is no money in the budget to serve 20 million American folks on unemployment. Also, why should people have to lose a job because those folks entrusted to do the right thing don’t know how to drown and bleed in ethical conduct? How can we tell our children not to bully or lie but to deal in honesty when the dew of probity is dripping far away from us?
I understand as human beings we all tend to think we are getting away with erroneous behavior. I challenge you to rethink your behavior. If you intentionally or unintentionally engage in any wrongdoing, you always have the choice to redeem yourself by making it right. God sees and hears what we don’t think others see or hear. Lord knows I am guilty of saying things I am not proud of. I am aware of it and I constantly work towards making myself better. There is nothing wrong with working on being your best self. There is everything wrong with us as representatives of the Most High God, doing things as business men, and women leaders in this pandemic that risk the lives of others economically, socially, and medically. He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? He that formed the eye, shall he not see?
