Dexter and Divinity met in college. They both have one more year to finish up and then they will graduate. Divinity is getting her Degree in Nuclear Engineering and Dexter is getting his degree in Software Engineering. They have been dating for three years. They were friends first before they dated. None of their parents approve of their relationship. Dexter and Divinity love each other but their race and culture are different. Their parents have warned them not to be together. If they continue to stay together in their relationship, they both will be cut off from receiving financial assistance to pay for their last year in school. They have to talk to each other about what their parents have stated. They meet at a study hall at their school to talk. Dexter is from Africa and Divinity is from the Philippines. 

Dexter: (Nervously pulling a note out of his pocket) Divinity, I know we both came here to talk about something regarding our parents. My mom and dad do not approve of our relationship, but I can't live for my parents. They have their love story. This is mine. This is ours. They said they will cut me off financially, but I will work 2 jobs if I have to. I love you! I'm not going anywhere. When we walk across that stage together, we will have enough money to depend on ourselves.

Divinity:(Waterfall Tears) Yes! Yes! I will. This is so sweet. My parents kind of said the same thing. I wasn't sure how I was going to tell you and you said it first. I got you something as well. Yeah, I'm not going anywhere. You're my best friend and biggest supporter. I love you too Dexter.  I am going to get a job. We will be just fine! 

Dexter: Wow! You are an amazing, beautiful spirit. I accept the key to your heart. I promise to do my best to take good care of your heart. You even had our names engraved. What a woman you are!
