The Freedom From Religion Foundation filed a complaint against a judge for giving Amber Guyger a Bible in the courtroom. Civil rights attorney Avery Friedman calls it a “profound redemptive chapter,” while criminal defense attorney Richard Herman says it was “inappropriate.”
Everyone is talking about the Amber Guyger trial. Amber Guyger is the Dallas police officer who claimed she walked into the wrong apartment and thought she encountered a criminal in her apartment. She then shot and killed Botham Jean who was unarmed eating ice cream in his actual apartment. CNN reports on a complaint being filed against Judge Tammy Kemp for her mannerism in giving Guyger a bible in the courtroom during the trial. What do you think about this? Iv'e never heard of this kind of display in a court room before. Have you?
Shannon Sharpe Asks If Botham Jean Murdered Amber Guyger Would He Have Only Received 10 Years
In this second tweet by Dee Magic, a man by the name of Shannon Sharpe asked if the roles were reversed, what would happen? Would Jean get 10 years for killing Amber Guyger? A lot of people on Twitter and others seem to disagree with no. Shannon articulates that “Black people are always expected to be compassionate, but rarely receive compassion.” The proof of that is not cryptic.
This article wins the "Totally Missed the Point" award. I'll say it AGAIN: if a judge handed an inmate a personal copy of her Qur'an and encouraged the defendant to have a...
Rafael also re-states the issue about Judge Kemp giving Amber Guyger a bible and a hug. He does not agree with the article in the New York Times. Judges are supposed to be impartial. It would be nice to see all judges model this kind of compassion.
"We don’t get handshakes, we don’t get hugs, we don’t get Bibles," said Christopher Scott, a black man who was wrongfully convicted in a capital murder case. "They just say ‘We’re sorry for what happened to you and you are a free man to go.’”
I am sure a lot of black men and boys can relate to what Christopher Scott has said. Some of you are bothered by Kaepernick taking a knee. This is why!
Trevor discusses the hugs Amber Guyger received in court after being convicted of murdering Botham Jean in his own home.
Trevor also speaks about the outrage of the Amber Guyger case in light of the compassion giving to Amber not being given to black folks in America.
The jury thought Amber Guyger was remorseful despite her fighting the murder charge, never pleading guilty. The judge, bailiff and victim's family embraced her despite her text messages admitting she's racist. She received the lightest sentence possible for murder. Idk.
Sheppard talks about how the judge, bailiff, and Botham Jeans's family embraced Amber Guyger, despite her text messages illustrating her racism against black people. The consensus is, Amber received a lighter sentence, adding to how ridiculous her story sounds.
How about this: All you people outraged by the amount of compassion shown Amber Guyger, demand that level of love from one another. I don't want to hear another "bitch this," "nigga that," nor see us support nare nother reality show where this destructive behavior is exhibited.
I like this perspective. It is quite different. Well, how about it black people! Can we do that? Karen Hunter has a valid point.

Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib is calling out the police department in Detroit Michigan for their face recognition policy which she states is flawed and broken. Tlaib wants blacks to be represented in the process of that technology. Some folks do not like what she is trying to do.
The Beautiful Talented actress pioneer Diane Carroll has died
Diahann Carroll made waves in her grace to represent black women as an actress and singer. I remember when she used to play on Dynasty. I watched it mainly to see her on there. It was a major role for her. Ms. Carroll has definitely left her mark in this world. She died of cancer. She will be missed.
On Thursday, October 4th 2019 Barak and Michelle celebrated 27 years of black love that rocks! They always represent love in the best way. Gloria Garrett and other folks on twitter wasted no time in wishing them a Happy Anniversary.
Kansas bringing out Snoop Dogg and stripper poles for their midnight madness. Going undefeated this season. (Via @mswain97)
Interestingly, folks are at an uproar over Snoop Dogg performing at a college in Kansas. Well, at first they were not but now they are. He (Snoop) of all people had strippers on board as he performed. Not Snoop, right?
I’m here for Snoop blowing up the spot in Kansas and giving them all the blackness they didn’t ask for. But it’s a perfect snapshot of the NCAA hypocrisy, and also how schools use eye candy and extravagance to hypnotize young athletes.
Jemele Hill is in support of Snoop Dogg and she makes no apologies for her support of him or her statement.
