ACE Mentor Program of America
This organization is at the national level. They do have mentoring programs in Illinois. If you have friends, family or children who are interested in architecture, construction or engineering, please point them in this direction.
Action for Healthy Kids
Join the movement for healthy snacks and good eating tips for your kids. When your kids eat healthier meals it fuels their energy to learn better.
African American Board Leadership Institute
You know you’re a boon; a blessing, an asset. The way you add all that saporific difference to all the young men and women who look up to you. Why not join a board and make your presence of inclusion known. This organization wants to ensure African American Leadership is represented well.
African American Male Institute
The University of New York is responsible for this initiative. They desire to represent the underrepresented, feeding them higher education.

They provide free therapy for foster children.

They are an African American male fraternity that advocate for the welfare of black children and men. Seek them out and you shall find how they can help you out!
Amachi
This organization advocates for children whose parents are incarcerated and gives support to those kids. Amachi is located in various states.

All kids need a big brother or big sister as a positive influence in their lives. This organization helps in cultivating their success.

This organization will help water your children's potential and help them grow!

If you want your young people rich in leadership development and educational achievement skills, please check out the Brotherhood/Sisterhood Sol. They have a lot to offer. This organization is locally based in New York but maybe you could start a chapter in your state.

This organization was created by Ed Gordon. Daddy's Promise is an initiative to strengthen the bonds of fathers and daughters.

They empower young minds through education. They are based in Los Angeles.
Institute for Responsible Citizenship
This institute prepares African American men to be extraordinary men. They are responsible men who win in life!
Jackie Robinson Foundation
Higher education requires some financial funds. The Jackie Robinson Foundation has a scholarship program.
Junior Achievement
Junior Achievement has verified their success targeting elementary school, middle school, and high school students to inspire and mentor leadership skills that help them compete in a global economy.
Jumpstart
Welcome to more informational tools and resources for you to use with your children. JumpStart is a nonprofit organization that helps prepare our intellectual babies from pre-school through college for financial literacy. Although they are based in Washington, DC I am sure you can use some of their resources or start a chapter in your state. Time to get a JumpStart on it!

This organization focuses on African American males to help prepare them for college life. They have teen summits, internships and financial literacy up their sleeves to enhance black excellence.
National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurs
Some kids are told to get a job and make a living. Some are told to go to college and get a good job. Others are told to create their own! NFTE encourages young people to be entrepreneurs. There is nothing wrong with that!
National Safe Place
It is so comforting to know if our young people are in some type of trouble and have nowhere to go, there is a safe place for them. I think all states should have a safe place for our children. Sometimes we can't reach them but maybe someone else can.
National Urban League
The National Urban League is rooted and grounded in ensuring black folks have a seat at the American table of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. They have been advocating diversity in employment, job skills and mentoring for over 50 years.
National Urban Tech Center
They use technology like digital storytelling and animation to help young people with their critical thinking and social emotional learning skills.
Operation Hope
Operation Hope advocates financial literacy to our youth.
Police Athletic League
This is an important organization because it allows individuals to see and know that there are police officers who are helping to shape their communities in a positive way, despite what is often seen in the media. There are still good police officers present.

Steve Harvey Foundation
Steve and his lovely wife Marjorie have a mentoring program that helps boys become men. Each year families apply to the foundation in hopes of having their sons accepted into the Harvey mentoring program.
Tavis Smiley Foundation
I didn't even know Tavis Smiley had his own foundation for young people to become leaders. There is no excuse for you if you need help with your young boys or girls.

If you and your kids love math and science they certainly have to check out TERC. If your kids don't have any interest in math and science persuade them to check it out anyway. TERC is a great resource!
