RECEIPT
Now, repeat after me! “You’ve got to show me the receipts of that man or woman that cheats.” This word is not about buying things. When you purchase anything from a store, they will ask you if you want a receipt or give you one. It’s not that little piece of paper stating the amount of money you paid for an item. It's not the paper you use to always return stuff you have issues with. Most people in this era use the word “receipt” to prove or disprove something. Omarosa Manigault used this word over and over again during one of her love-attacks on President Trump. At first it was all love, then the hate rolled out of her pours for her main man and beloved, Trump after he fired her. If you catch someone doing things that are not right and you have proof, start saying “I have the receipts” to prove you lied on your taxes, or whatever the situation is. Please start using it, or if you use it too much, switch it up a bit.
DOUBLING DOWN
Oh, this word is being beat up, dragged through the mud, and used as hostage in the political arena. All the news networks, all the way down to the anchor men and women love having their way with this word. When President Trump said the people in Charlottesville were “very fine people” he doubled down when folks had a problem with what he said, which means he said what he said and he was not going to redact it, because he meant it. He stood very firm in his unpopular truth audaciously. President Trump makes a lot of statements on Twitter. He will not apologize or concede to any fault. Okay, just like the time when you had that family feast and your dad or someone in your family was not supposed to eat the last piece of chicken that was supposed to be preserved and saved for that other family member who was working late. He/she couldn’t make it home for dinner in time. Well, your dad or maybe it was you, doubled down on eating that last piece of chicken. I surmise doubling down can be a good or not so good thing. Start using it or stop, dang!
TRANSPARENCY
Senator "what's his name" If elected to stop using the word transparency, sir will you please stop using the word and pass a bill to ensure the word stays out of your mouth forever? This word really gets on my nerves. If you want to use a bit of sophistication in your vocabulary, you should just go ahead and join the rest of the crowd. The main folks that use this word are also rocking hard in the political scene. When people use this word, they overdo it to the tenth power. They are the main ones usually lying, not using transparency. People who use the word transparency are not clear, they are vague. They are not trying to be honest at all. They usually are hiding a little something. If you run for any political office, you had better use the word “transparency" at least 8 or 9 times in one of your love speeches. I mean, this stuff sounds so good and polished. You have to get on board and use or stop using the word transparency, even if it makes no darn sense. Just use it anyway. Folks will love you for it. Your kids are not cleaning up their rooms or doing any of their homework because you are not using transparency. Um, what?
TRAJECTORY
When my grandmother died in 2015 the entire trajectory of my family changed. I was very comfortable and accustomed to being around my family with my Lula always in the picture. My granny Lula was the glue that held the family together during special occasions in our family. You know it is always 'going down' at yo' grandma's house. I can't even lie about liking this word. If you are not using and abusing this word, um I say start using it. Folks are catching on to this word and they are using it by any means necessary. It is your turn to stop or start. I say don't stop!

CHANGE THE NARRATIVE
If you've ever visited DL Hughley Instagram page, he often speaks about black folks changing the narrative. Yes, DL does use and abuse this word, but he gets a Sancti-Fly pass in my book because he enjoys highlighting positive images and things that black people normally do that are not viewed as normal by the dominant society. I know you have often heard this word. We need to change the narrative for this movie. You are trying to change the narrative of my point of view because that is not what I said. Write your own narratives and be the voice or change you want to see in the world. Write and tell your own stories. Change the narrative, change the narrative, change the freaking narrative!
What other words do we use and abuse? Can you think of some?
