Where did we go wrong with this spoil little rich kid? Dayton is seen in the picture above on a trip to Africa. He is doing a good deed, right? Fast forward a few more years and Mr. Kingerly is boldly in college drunk, making racial slurs and homophobic rhetoric about him not liking black folks and gay people, as pointed out in the Root. Well Dayton, I don’t think they’re (blacks, gays) going anywhere. This is a dangerous move. How can you help black-skinned folks but suddenly you hate them? Be watchful people! This is why black history is important.
I advocate eating right and exercise for the body. It’s always time for that! I recently noticed in the month of December how the hoi polloi of folks was talking nonstop about Keto. It's currently still the talk of the town. I was slapped in the face with Keto repeatedly, in bookstores, online, and with family and friends. Keto is another form of low-carb dieting. You are encouraged to eat more protein as you kick carbs to the curb. Then this enhances ketosis, which burns the fat and makes you and your body energetically happy! Try it! You have every undesirable weight to lose as being healthy will be your gain!
Misconceptions, life lessons, and an influx of angry tensions suffocated the atmosphere when Gayle King set down to interview Lisa Leslie. Lisa was good friends with Kobe Bryant. Her career flourished as an WNBA star in California as Kobe’s did as an L.A Laker’s player. Leslie was qualified to speak about Kobe's character. I can concur with Lisa articulating to Gayle King about leaving the past in the past. If any journalist or network lusted to interview Kobe regarding his alleged rape case, they should have initiated that conversation with him while he was alive. On Instagram Gayle King blamed CBS for taking the interview out of context. She exclaimed how Kobe was her friend and how she talked to Lisa Leslie about many other things. CBS chose to focus on the piece in the interview that mention his alleged rape case. Snoop Dog did not like that. He felt as a black journalist, Gayle should have not made certain statements. Maybe Gayle should have been a bit more sensitive to the fact of Mrs. Bryant grieving the loss of her husband and daughter. I surmise this is a teachable moment for so many of us. If you profess you are friends with someone, a real friend will protect you and your family when you’re alive and dead. I do not agree with death threats Gayle King experienced. That shouldn't even be existing. Snoop stated he did not threaten Gayle King. He was upset and emotional about the interview. He thought Gayle King was being very disrespectful. What I will say is as a man or woman of influence you must watch the words that come out of your mouth. There are lots of different perspectives on this mention but I do not agree Snoop Dog hates black women as one journalist has noted.
Hold up, wait a minute Manhattan! Are you telling me that during the first week of Black History Month Barnes and Nobles switched the script and snatched all the blackface authors off their shelves considering them being naked and ashamed? As noted in the Root um, yeah, they did! I don’t mean to sound kind of repetitive, therefore we need black history, black authors = our own narratives that are marketable. I promise you there are plenty-many black authors that Barnes and Nobles could have used for Black History Month. What kind of ignorance did they desire to represent? Placing books about white authors who wrote about whites in blackface is not conducive to celebrating black history. You do know those folks were making fun of black people. Please have a little bit of respect during this month Barnes and Nobles. Where have ya’ll been, during these last few decades of historical turbulence? Your brand gives an apology but you guys really should have known better. How many times can this happen and no one on your teams not recognize it as a wrong move?
On this black history Tuesday,12 men who were caught up in the corruption web of Sergeant Ronald Watts were all freed by State Attorney Kim Foxx. A judge vacated their sentences. Attorney Foxx also apologized to the young men for years of their lives being taken away. Watts was notorious for going to low income housing areas, framing young men and taking their money. Watts was acting like the criminal; allowing the black community to form a distrust for those who are supposed to serve and protect. I am sure his actions made it difficult for the community he terrorized to interact and trust police officers. This good news is always healthy to hear. It happens way too often to those men, women, mothers, fathers and family members who go through these kind of trials. What a relief, they're free!
