Curve your nerve with a wack attack at a Starbucks near you. How in the world are you going to demand your employees cease from wearing any Black Lives Matter attire? You must have fell and bumped your head because when you woke up there was a change in your mind. Oh yeah, you forgot that your policy allowing and encouraging those in the LGBTQ community to wear their pins, shirts, and supportive measures for their cause. Then you did what most folks do when they are caught up in erroneous behaviors, you reversed it. Now, Black Lives Matter, right? I am not convinced. I think I'm about to social distance my economic interest in you Starbucks.
The Appeal is always ripe and ready to inform you; giving you the best news. She (Willie Mae Harris) shouldn't have been in jail. Lord have mercy on the black men and women in this liberty and justice (just us) for all country. I really need to start doing these Appeals weekly. They give vital mentions to much attention in criminal justice, laws, policing and providing education to their huge audience about things we never knew about. There is a syndrome called the 'Excited Delirium.' Well, the word was made up and is used by law enforcement. The American Medical Associations has no association with the terminology or that word. The term 'Excited Delirium' is used to get police officers off the hook when people (black) die in their custody. I wonder why there are states who are putting bans on police unions and seeking to defund the police? They want to reinvest those funds into the community. In the middle of all of the protesting going on, the Federal Bureau of Prisons were not about to take any chances, so they locked all of their prisoners up. It's an American shame, some prisoners are not fully protected from covid-19. Make sure you always remain consistent, checking up on your loved ones who are locked up. The better their chances will be when you do it. Please don't hesitate to advocate for them, by any means necessary. What is really going on in Texas? What about West Virginia? If you want to stay in the 'know' sign up to receive The Appeal's newsletter. If you work in criminal justice, in the legal field or going to law school, The Appeal is most certainly all yours to connect with.
Black folks are viewed from a different lense than other folks in this American society. History can attest to that fact. Especially when it comes to some police officers. The buzz on the street is to fear black men. Historically, white people were known to terrorize black folks, on and on until the break of dawn so who really should be fearing who? There are centuries of proof to back up the legal violence done to a group of people just because the pigment of melanin in their skin. The preponderance of evidence can be an alphabetical song in a list of names, why some people desire to defund the police. A is for Ahmaud Arbery,
B is for Breonna Taylor, E is for Eric Garner, G is for George Floyd, L is for Laquan McDonald and G is for George Fuller, just to name a few reasons. There are more known and unknown names. We know technology has helped to shine a brighter light on the problem of police brutality. When you have men who are hired to serve and protect all people, making troubling statements about black people needing to be shot more, something has to be done. Lessons must be served. The taxes from black folks help to pay the salaries of police officers too, lest we forget! Defunding the police does not mean to abolish the police. Some departments do plan on dismantling theirs and starting fresh. It simply means taking some of their law enforcement budgets and redistributing it into the community for social programs, youth initiatives, and social workers who are trained to handle folks in black communities without shooting them. What we have in place right now is not working for the black community. There has to be authentic reform, not a band-aid reform. The demand has been made. Now it is time for the legislature to supply the demand.
If you hit'em in the pocket, 'they gon' stop it! If police officers knew that they would be fined or if they had to pay for lawsuits out of their pensions, I bet police officers would think more than twice about lusting after abusing their power as cops. Making ways out of no way to harrass, racially profile, and kill black lives that do matter, would come to a drastic stop! Incidentally, if any of this does not apply to you, then I am not talking about you. If the shoe fits, I am totally calling you out, so wear it with liberty and justice for all. The times are changing. It is your turn to change with the times.
Peaceful protest won't rest! People all over the world are still chanting in the streets saying, "No Justice, No Peace." I smell change in the air! Black players of the NFL are increasing their rights to speak out and protest against police brutality. Black folks are beyond tired of all these Karen/Becky types. White women who do this (not talking about you if it's not YOU), understand the harm they place black men and women in. I digress! The history of racial injustice was the ONLY darn reason Kapernick was peacefully protesting. A lot of folks knew Kapernick was on the right side of history. Now those who sang that sad anti-Kapernick song, are realizing their tune was off-beat and wrong. It wasn't about disrespecting the flag. That flag is drenched in negro blood. What do you think about that disrepect? Did you hear about the update on Jessie Smollett? Jas Waters allegedly committed suicide. She was a writer for the show "Just Us." I understand we are all wrapped up in our own little peaceful protest and covid-19 but there really are other things to know about in the world. In China Africans are being blatantly discriminated against. Corona is still hanging around in the background. Do yourself a favor and contiue to guard your health. In Illinois, Governor Pritker stated how hopeful he is about the possiblity of his state not having a spike in corona if Illinoisians continue to practice good healthy habits. Due to high unemployment claims, the Federal Reserve is not jacking up the interest rates. Now ya know!
I am here to spotlight the hype and read you all of your black on black owned business rights, in highlights that Forbes recently promoted on their website. Black owned businesses matter as well as black health, black humanity and black lives. Forbes showed some radical love. I am excited about this and this! Do not be shy about supporting black owned businesses. Black folks support all people if they like the product. Now it is time for a fair exchange. I can't even lie how Sancti-Fly I'm feeling inside, right now. Thanks Forbes!
Don't you give us all that jazz about your purposely planned Tulsa rallies and your Make America Great Again families. This ain't 1623, but in the 1920s black folks had a thriving black economy. Tulsa Oklahoma was where we glowed in silver and gold. Every year on June 19th black folks gather together to celebrate their true freedom called Juneteenth. Trump is setting the stage for a re-election campaign, and the taste of the bait is on his face. I had to come back live to rewind the time. Trump just changed his mind.
It's your fate to remember these dates! Honor your husband, your man, or your soul mate on Father's Day. We know you do it all the time. June 21 is set aside for all of us to grace the men in our lives with love. If you don't celebrate that date, come on over for the entire month of June to tune into Black Music Month. Don't you dare forget about Juneteenth. This is the black version of that 1776 document. The date black folks were emancipated was on June 19 and we are still fighting for smithereens of liberty in 2020!
No more careless effects of mishaps will be going down in any homes in the state of Lousiville, Kentucky. There is a new law in honor of Breonna Taylor's life called the Breonna's Law. This law bans no-knock warrants in Lousiville, as noted by NPR. It means that police officers will no longer be allowed warrants from a judge to enter people's residence or property without prior notice. It's all over! It is illegal to do that now. In March of this year (2020), Lousiville police officers raided Breonna's home. They did not announce themselves and they did not knock. They killed her. They had the wrong house. The individuals they were looking for were already in custody. So many police stations across this nation have to do better with their communications. Let's double check the facts. Make sure you are going to the right home address before you make a move. Kudos to all of the freedom fighters, Shaun King, and all the councilwomen and men in Lousiville, Kentucky who voted on this law. It is a good start. All we need now is for justice to roll down like water in this case!
