Despite what we see on the news I believe there are more professional officers than what is sometimes displayed in the media. I will be the first one to call out any police misconduct or bogus behavior, especially when it comes to all race relations coupled with white supremacy. That all has to die. It will. There are more individuals in melanated communities and others joining the police force because they believe they can break the machine. This new generation is not like your grandparents. They are not having it! Remember those who wish to continue in those antediluvian ways will not live forever. So, jump in there and take that change before their minions try to.
Anyway, back to the goodness of this story. A few days ago, a woman in Lula's bloodline (our family) was taking care of some business in the south suburbs of Chicago. She noticed a man in a silver/grey Jeep Cherokee following her. She told me this man boldly followed her multiple times. She also said she purposely moved around the area in her car to see if he would continue to follow her. He did. She immediately called the police in the area. She told us the man started to leave when he saw her on her phone. The police came swiftly to her location to document everything. She told me they even offered to escort her to her next location. I thought that was a nice thing to do. She told me and our family how safe she felt with the 2 European officers and how they made her feel. She told us she felt very respected and important. We were all thankful for her safety and her experience. Please be safe and watch your surroundings, young men and women. I always pray for good encounters with police officers if my friends and family have to interact with them. Favor and peace are my prayers.
One thing about us, we give honor and credit where it is due. I want to give a big "thank you" and shout out to a host of men and women officers serving our communities in the south suburban localities. Yall be doing the most, out there in the south suburbs of Illinois serving and helping people. Omg! THANK YOU.
