"If you would be truly free, if you would have an inheritance of dignity and equality for your children, you will register and vote." - Dr. King The trajectory of my apathetic stance always takes a turn for the better when I listen to my Aunt Mable share her stories of the south with me. My Aunt Mable is 101 years strong. Yes, she has experienced and lived through oppression, segregation and the Civil Rights era. She is history and she shares history with me! She is my Lula’s big sister. Aunt Mable is blessed. She can talk to you about politics, family, and religion. She can feed herself and able to care for herself, although she does have assistance in the mornings to help watch over her. She can also vote! She is a registered voter! I am gobsmacked at how God’s grace and mercy positively infects her life. There are so many folks who didn’t give up on their right to vote when it was exacerbated by the tallest barriers against them. It is one of the ONLY reasons I push myself to vote. I concede I am not that overjoyed with the state of our public officials nationwide, but there is always hope. We have a choice to partition that hope in the right direction. You are hope for someone who really needs it. Think about it! Please exercise your right to vote so that we can confront the laws and policies imperative for change!

OH MY APP GOSH! Last month I decided to share my love for spicing up my family and friends (who rock stronger than the wind) birthdays with the Quotes Creator app. I displayed my before and after Quotes Creator birthday memes to the world. Each month I try my best to text them some birthday love on their special days. As promised, here are a few more for the month of December. You have to try this app. Creative bliss awaits you! BEFORE Yes, the word of the Lord endureth forever. I believe it, despite all the tampering and confusion in the way. This "Sunday Blessing" was sent to me by one of my friends. I thought I surely could Sancti-Fly this for someone's birthday. You KNOW I did! It is nice but I added a little something to it. The fun thing is, when I use Quotes Creator on my pictures I get more ideas. The creative groove attacks me somehow and I am able to add something different to the same picture over and over again. I have done this particular one over lots of times. I think it is called, "I shine" lol! AFTER There is so much you can do with this picture. Quotes Creator will allow you to put things in the windows if you feel the creative groove coming on. I mean, you could even put things all around the house. Did you notice how I added HAPPY BIRTHDAY on the side of the house and personalized it for the person? I think I cry personalize happiness in my dreams. Why don't you have a blessed day. No, wait, have a blessed week and weekend! Good morning blessings are coming for you too! I think you should really start speaking it. The universe is ready for you! :0) BEFORE I cannot keep my calm. You already KNOW how passionate I feel about this phrase! No one else is going to uplift us and put us first so we do it for each other. YES, black girls rock! I had to personalize this one, for birthdays. It would be illegal not to! AFTER This is an actual birthday I did for Ms. Gi Gi Finetower! Look at all the amazing positive energy Quotes Creator preserves for you to play around with. I added the best phrases that describe black women. I also added a few hearts, kisses, and smiles. I really enjoyed personalizing this. No matter what, your magic won't stop! It can't stop because black girls rock! BEFORE This one is a Bitmoji Happy Birthday. If you have downloaded their app (Bitmoji) I am sure you've come across this one before. You probably sent it out to some of your family and friends. Quotes Creator allows you to fill in any open spaces. There is plenty of space in this magical birthday picture. Remember when I was telling you that I could take the same picture and do the birthday meme differently? Well, just look at the last two below. They are the same picture but personalized diversely. AFTER This is an actual birthday meme I did for my Afro Latina sister Lah Tere. There is so much you can do with Quotes Creator as you can see. I added a crown, dope words and my Sancti-Fly touch with my the fist raised high in the air because we do care. We continue to use our magic and spread it everywhere! AFTER
The phrase "Black Girl Magic" made its entrance proudly on this one. I added the words 'black girl' in light of the word magical already being in the picture. When I saw that pink star I totally saw the vision to create something great. J.U.G.S is an organization that my Sancti-Fly sister Tanya rocked her magic in. I personalized her birthday with those words. This particular one was done a month before the first one so I came up with more visions for hers (Lah Tere). You can see the difference. Teresita has her name on the shirt and on the pony with hearts. Tanya has her name in the middle of the pony with smiling faces. She has hearts at the end by the words. This picture is no longer naked. It is dressed in magic everywhere! Below are my Sancti-Fly Tweets of the week. I cruise around Twitter sometimes and shine a light on some random tweets I think are really significant or funny.
TheRoot Today we honor James Baldwin, one of the most prolific writers of all time, on what would have been his 94th birthday. Kamran Javadizadeh James Baldwin, who would have turned 94 today, from his 1965 debate with William F. Buckley. “It comes as a great shock...to discover that the flag to which you have pledged allegiance...has not pledged allegiance to you.” NowThis ‘It is a terrible thing for an entire people to surrender to the notion that one-ninth of its population is beneath them.’ — James Baldwin died over 30 years ago, but his words on the condition of the American spirit are as true as they’ve ever been Phillip Henry James Baldwin was really king of spilling tea that remained perfectly steeped for decades August 2 is James Baldwin's birthday! Trending on Twitter was amorous pounds of honor to James Baldwin for the love and light he gave to the world. The Root did a dope original video. Phillip Henry posted a video as well. If you have any scholar babies in college or on their way, please encourage them to study this fruitful man. Read some of his books and quotes. Check out all of the videos from various individuals on Twitter who have shared pieces of Baldwin’s history. Baldwin was spot on when he said black people are just like everybody else. They are human beings just like you. I really like the quote that Mr. Kamran used on his page regarding the flag. James Baldwin's energy is still alive, thank God! Shaun King I cannot believe what I am being told today. My wife & I just learned that New York Child Services now wants to interview each of our children, alone, without us in the room, because of a single report that they admit was anonymous. The person didn't even leave a phone number. I saw this tweet on Shaun King's page. I am asking all the prayer warriors to uplift this brother and his family in your prayers. Shaun King is a freedom fighter for justice and of course it comes with a price. He is being attacked. I am asking God to do a quick thing. He is doing good work and he will continue to do it! Evil always bows down to goodness and wickedness at the gates of God's righteousness. deray remember, we are all at risk. Deray re-tweeted this story from Blavity about the actor Ving Rhames sharing his story of being racially profiled in 2018. Someone called 911 and said Mr. Rhames was robbing a house that happened to be his own house. Gracefully as the police officers had their guns pointed in his face the chief of police recognized him in light of watching his show. It doesn’t matter if you are famous or not. It can happen to you. America, is this really how you want this era of history to go down? This is how you want to continue your mark of remembrance? Shame, Shame, Shame! Kurt Eichenwald This just won’t stop. @Safeway calls police on Black woman for shoplifting. A woman who never entered the store. Never left her car And who was feeding the homeless. New crime: CWB. Charitable While Black. StanceGrounded Sunnyvale, California Safeway calls cops on a black mother for giving food to the homeless because they thought she was a shoplifter! This is shameful! Erika Martin is a Hero. Azenith Smith “Don’t judge a book by its cover, not cover but color” #Sunnyvale woman considering legal action against Safeway after employees in #MountainView called police accusing her of stealing. She was there to drop off dog food to the homeless. The three tweets above are random tweets from Kurt, StanceGrounded and Azenith. Safeway is the hot topic of the day. A black woman had the police called on her by employees at Safeway because someone at the Safeway store stated she was stealing. The woman (Erika) in question didn't even go into the store. The woman was giving food to a homeless man for him and his dog. Erika Martin did not fit the description at all! Her attire didn't even match the lie they tried to give birth to. This is beyond absurd! HuffPost Basketball star LeBron James opened a public school in his hometown to help Akron’s at-risk youth grow academically and emotionally. The HuffPost tweeted about LeBron James I Promise School he is opening up for the youth in his hometown. KUDOS TO YOU LEBRON! This is wonderful news. There are so many folks showing love and attention to LeBron James new school. I hope and pray others who are giving much will continue to do good things with their influence and money. I just have one thing to say to LeBron. Brother don't stop making noise and continue to build while you dribble too! :0). Quotes Creator is an app I started using by accident. I was looking for a unique way to jazz up my birthday love. I also used it for my Instagram account. This app made me a believer! I really enjoy doing this. It's ineffable how I feel when I am able to be creative with Quotes Creator. If you don't believe me, just ask my family and friends who rock stronger than any kind of wind. I totally stalk them each month with a happy birthday meme, using the Quotes Creator App. You have to try it! Check out some of my before and after creations. I will try to send a few of my creations monthly. You really should try it! BEFORE You can add different backgrounds on Quotes Creator. As you see in this first picture above, it is plain. Well, not quite! Yes, I got this back ground from Quotes Creator. I added the words in white. This exact quote is on my Instagram page. All the pictures and quotes on my Instagram was created with Quotes Creator. AFTER I LOVE to personalize every freaking thing! I usually will add names but this particular one does not have a name. I added little hearts plus a happy face. The words are encouraging as well. This is the after effect. This app allows you to take something plain and bring a wealth of imagination to life. We all have an imagination so stop saying you don't have one or you could not think of this. May miracles creep into your nights and bless your life! :0) BEFORE I got this positive quote from Pinterest. It was used in a past post I did. Who would ever think of turning this quote into something magical. You know I had to add my Sancti-Fly Mama touch to it. AFTER It doesn't look so plain anymore, right? You guys can do this as well. You will certainly surprise yourself. This is an actual birthday creation. I always use names, but this is a standard one. The best things in life just happens and something good is going to happen to you! BEFORE This is a picture from the Bitmoji App. We all love using Bitmoji! This is a nice "Good Morning" picture to send. It is quite lovely! Well check out what I did to it in the after picture. AFTER Are you smiling yet? Do you like it? I added my Sancti-Fly Mama magic to this picture for my Aunt Kail. Of course she loved it. You can do it too! BEFORE This is also a picture from the Bitmoji App. You probably sent this to someone before. It's always so nice to receive Bitmoji love. AFTER I just added a little something, something, to give it a Sancti-Fly twist of birthday bliss. AFTER
Here is more birthday bliss! Do you like it? “How come black people never protest black on black crime?” Have you ever heard folks say that? I have countless times. Well they do. It doesn’t get enough dips of attention like all the other controversial media coverage. They love to sip on all the negativity most of the time. On July 7, 2018 Saint Sabina church lead a peaceful protest against gun violence with Father Michael Pfleger as the thriving force. They marched from 79th to 67th street. It was a successful march as noted in the Chicago Sun Times. I had a few friends and some associates who attended the march. One of my girlfriends said Governor Rauner displayed a little bit of his hoity-toity dust in the air. He was ineffective. There was no stopping or blocking the march. My girlfriend said when they heard there was resistance to their march, they began to pray. It all worked! They shut the Dan Ryan down. Did Governor Rauner forget about their first amendment rights? You might not agree with it but sometimes you have drink sips of radical to get the responsiveness of those who should be partnering with the community and local churches. It is imperative to be extreme; to be counted in when politicians want to count you out. It is fundamental to hold those accountable for providing economic development to black and brown people; justice and equality. I plan on taking a visit to Saint Sabina church soon.
I commend Father Pfleger for using his platform as a man of God to sip on a higher calling of demanding change in the neighborhoods on the south side of Chicago. Instead of complaining maybe it would benefit you to take a huge sip of examples from Father Michael Pfleger. Shame on all those other pastors and other religious leaders for NOT marching with Saint Sabina; especially those who are African American. You do know Father Pfleger pastors a predominantly African American community of believers, right? I repeat, every pastor and church on the south side of Chicago should have been represented at that march. There were some churches represented from the south suburbs who attended the march. If there is anyone who can stop the spirit of wickedness in all directions it is the prayer warriors; believers. Sip on that! Father Pfleger did what he had to do! He cares about the people in his community. I so get it! The lengthening of some people’s ignorance is quite disturbing. I went to the Festival of the Lakes in Indiana. My goal was to see the artist Nas (hip hop artist). Nas came out last. When I arrived Twista was performing on state. Twista is from Chicago so of course he gets love from me. I like a few of his songs. I get that we take sips of not liking every song or every artist. As Twista was performing he introduced one of his artist who goes by the name of B Hype. I’ve never heard of him because I don’t listen to that type of music. When B Hype came out the crowd was less hyped. The energy changed. I think B Hype was not a good choice for the Festival of the Lake event. All I could remember were all the statements I heard from the people standing next to me when B Hype can out with his song titled “I Need Drugs.” Folks with children didn’t like it. It glorified taking drugs and being high. I get how that particular lifestyle is prevalent and popular to some in the music industry, sadly. I sure as heck was not feeling it AT ALL! I thought the song was very inappropriate. I was like really Twista? Why did he put B Hype on stage at a festival where he knew all kind of families would be present? I surmise in light of B Hype being an American citizen, his freedom of speech is certainly protected by the first amendment as well; whether you liked it or not. I so get it! What is it that you get? Do you allow understanding to slip by you with no evidence of empathy and sympathy attached to your humanity? Are you a person who is always so quick to judge, drowning in stereotypes with all of your lovely might? As my Lula (grandmother) use to say, keep on living, you'll get it. I pray that you will! Welcome to free spirits that care about other people healing; mental illness. What about having a great debate; making history at 1st place? Indeed, it was like a Black Harvest Film Festival, showing the world your gifts and talents. There are some folks who have such great dancing habits. These mentions are entertaining with one criminal act that begs your attention. SUPPORTING DEPRESSION Michelle Williams’ humility graced the hearts and minds of others when she made a public statement about her depression. It was nice to see humanity rise to the occasion and embrace Michelle as she articulated getting help for herself. She selflessly used herself as an example to let other people know its okay to seek the professional help you need. There are so many people who don’t seek the help they need to treat their mental illness because they are not linked to the right information or resources. Some are afraid. Kudos to you Michelle Williams for spreading this awareness. PREPARATORY DEBATES LEADS TO GEORGIA’S GREAT FATE Intellect and brilliance is real sexy. I am so proud of these young scholars from Atlanta for stepping out of their comfort zones and enlisting in the Harvard Debate Council Diversity Project. It is a summer program where African American students from Atlanta have the opportunity to enhance their leadership skills while studying at Harvard. Students from Atlanta’s Grady High School recently made history when they competed in a national debate at Harvard as noted in 11 Alive. One of the young men who came in 1st place was Jordan Thomas. I wish every state had this type of initiative for kids in dire need of it. HOUSE MUSIC ALL NIGHT LONG I was introduced to the TRiiBE about 2 years ago. They were on the Chicago Speaks radio show. I have been a fan since. These young soldiers rock hard in every article they produce. The TRiiBE covered the Chosen Few DJs House Party Picnic this year. It was hilarious. I could not stop laughing. I am so proud of them for doing this piece. I don’t know if the folks in the videos were aware of their famous dance steps going global. Please check out the article. You will go back at least 3 or 4 times to read it again. Obama just had to groove in his Sancti-Fly coolness and bust a move in Kenya when he went back home to visit. This is so cute and funny at the same time. Dancing lightens up the atmosphere and it is good for your heart. This criminal mention is the number one reason why you as family members are intensely encouraged to monitor your loved ones who are in the care of others. Three young ladies were arrested for filming and making fun of a patient in hospice. There are no words of expression (ineffable) as to why they thought it was appropriate to film a patient. What is wrong with these people? I would like to know who hired these ladies. Please watch over your family members. BLACK HARVEST FILM FESTIVAL
Save the date ladies and gentlemen. August 4-30! The 24th Annual Black Harvest Film Festival will be making a way to bring new films into your special day. The City of Chicago supports local talent. If you have aspiring kids or family members who are interested in cinematography, please start taking them to these film festivals. If you are doing your own independent films, shame on you for not networking with all the film festivals in Chicago. Stop staying in the house and get out sometimes! Below are my Sancti-Fly Tweets of the week. I cruise around Twitter sometimes and shine a light on some random tweets I think are really significant or funny.
RawStory Jul 4 This family had 911 called on them because a Subway employee thought they were going to rob her. Trending recently on Twitter was #LivingWhileBlack. This first tweet is from RawStory. I have combined a few stories from this particular trend. The Dobson family was traveling back from their grandmother’s birthday party in South Georgia to their hometown in North Carolina when they stopped at a little town known as Coweta County in Georgia to get some Subway for dinner. The employee at Subway felt threatened by their appearance or skin color. In light of the 7 Dobson family members entering Subway and going to the washroom, she feared for her life and thought they were all going to rob her! The police was called after the 911 call. The officer was very nice. He met the debonair family and apologized. The owner of the Subway also apologized. The Dobson family thought the employee should be fired for racially profiling them. The Appeal Jul 1 A white woman called the police on Reggie Fields, a black 12-year-old, for mowing the lawn in Maple Heights, Ohio. I was really looking for positive stories on Twitter this week. This situation ended up being very positive for Mr. Reggie Fields. A woman called the police on him for accidentally mowing her lawn. When people heard about this ridiculous incident, Mr. Reggie’s sales and clientele increased. As a 12 year old entrepreneur, he is making a great name for himself and helping his younger family members in his business. The Appeal Jul 4 Janelle Bynum, a black Oregon state representative, was canvassing alone in a neighborhood she represents when a woman thought she looked suspicious and called the police. Maybe Ms Bynum should have had more people with her for safety reasons. I am not saying this is acceptable. We are living in crazy times. Kendra Desrosiers Jul 2 Kendra Desrosiers Retweeted The Root Serena Williams has been drug tested more than all the top five American male athletes and 2x more than top American female athletes this year. In some cases, she’s tested twice in a week. Some of her peers haven’t been tested at all. Kendra retweeted this tweet from The Root (off of their page). While Serena Williams is living while being a black woman she is tested more for drugs than her male counterparts and other women. I am not surprised by this (I STAY WOKE). She still represents greatness! They can’t take that away from her. Of course, if this is happening it is not right! Tamika D. Mallory Jul 5 I joined 200 black women leaders in singing this letter to @SenSchumer & @NancyPelosi expressing our indignation & disappointment at their failure to support @RepMaxineWaters. Tamika D. Mallory tweeted about the Democratic Party not fully supporting Maxine Waters. Maxine Waters encouraged her supporters and anyone who would listen to protest against President Donald Trump’s Cabinet members publicly. I don’t agree with harassing anyone. I do agree with peaceful protest. What if members of your own party disagree? It happens! I could care less what party you belong to. I don’t think it benefits either party to go around harassing folks in public. Vote them out! Flo McAfee Jul 4 Letters from black women leaders (attached) and white women leaders (link) were sent to @chuckschumer & @NancyPelosi expressing their disappointment in them for not defending the unnecessary attacks against @RepMaxineWaters by the GOP & Trump admin. Flo McAfee promotes her voice on the issue as well. This is the actual letter that was written on Maxine Waters behalf in support of her for not receiving support from Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. There are so many other important battles going on in this world. I am just saying! REALLY! NowThis Jul 3 The Trump administration is forcing children as young as toddlers to represent themselves in immigration courts. NowThis tweets about the Trump administration making immigrant children prepare for court without representation. I hope this is not true. The video has actors playing the role of the actual events that takes place. There is nothing righteous about this! I understand it is not right for immigrants to come over here illegally. There has to be another solution to this problem. I hope this is not true! Jon Cooper Jul 5 A former wrestler who has come forward to report sexual abuse by an Ohio State University doctor says GOP Rep. Jim Jordan witnessed the doctor commit “lewd acts” while showering w/ athletes when the lawmaker served as the school’s assistant wrestling coach. Allegedly, Jim Jordan is running for office and is being accused of covering up sexual abuse by students at Ohio State University when he was the assistant coach for the wrestling team. The accusers have said he was a witness and did nothing. What do you think about this? It appears there is so much abuse going on with teachers and coaches. We want our kids to be safe. Check on your kids. Ask them questions. Make sure you go to their games. Talk to their coaches and teachers. All coaches and teachers are not predators but you should be able to discern if something is not right. Joh Cooper isn’t the only one talking about this on Twitter. I have a few more tweets. Chris Hayes "Yetts had protested to Jordan and head coach Russ Hellickson after Strauss tried to pull down his wrestling shorts when Yetts went to see him for a thumb injury." This tweet by Chris Hayes states that one of the victims informed the coaches about the doctor trying to pull down his pants. Please try your best to investigate when you are told about this kind of abuse. No one wants folks to be falsely accused (it does happen) but we should not hesitate to look in to the matter. Dr. Dena Grayson WHOA A 4th #OSU wrestler (Shawn Dailey) contradicts Rep @Jim_Jordan's LIE of having "no idea" that the team doctor was MOLESTING athletes. Dailey is a #Republican: "To say that he had no knowledge of it, I would say that’s kind of hurtful.” It does not matter if they are Republican, Democrat or whatever. It is wrong to molest children; young adults, kids. We should be united on THAT! Parents please start paying more attention to your kids; their teachers and coaches. Talk to them. When was the last time you sat down and had a talk with them? What’s on their minds? Do you know? If they are away at school check on them. Institutions, universities and all schools have to do better. Don’t take for granted that it could not possibly happen at your school. Open your eyes…guys! Check I wonder how they're going to spend all of that Black Panther thunder that made 700 million at the box office. Well, money isn’t everything but it is very beneficial when someone you love disappears and the theme of your family is titled as weird. Abuse and greed does not discriminate. As a matter of fact it’s in full effect from Nigeria to Europe; gormandizing in sick traffic. I am thankful for Power-Pretty Mamas who make the world better! Please pay close attention to these very interesting mentions. BLACK PANTHER MONEY The success of Black Panther has inspired Disney (owner Marvel Studios) to donate quite a lot of money to the curriculum of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). I am pleased to know Chicago is one of the states included in receiving some of the grant money. Disney's million dollar donation motivates children in underprivileged communities at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (and everywhere) to explore more opportunities with STEM. If kids are exposed to the information, they can envision themselves being and doing it! I certainly welcome the investment! Kudos to you Disney! TIMOTHY CUNNINGHAM DISAPPEARED Can you image waking up and finding out someone in your family is missing with no trace of where he/she might be? Timothy Cunningham's parents and family are exactly in this chapter of their lives. Timothy Cunningham went missing almost a month ago on February 12, 2018. The Atlanta police said his dog, and lots of his personal belongings were left at his home. There are plenty of theories and conspiracies concerning Cunningham’s unexpected departure. He was employed by the Center of Disease Control (CDC) and left early from work that day stating he was feeling ill. As an epidemiologist, Cunningham is an asset to his Atlanta community and the CDC, as investigator of diseases and human injury. Timothy Cunningham has an innumerable amount of love poured into searching for him; family, friends, strangers and the police are petitioning awareness on his behalf. The family has teamed up with the Atlantic Crime Stoppers for instructive tips leading to some of their unanswered questions in hopes of finding him and finding out what happened to Cunningham. There is a 10,000 reward. If you know anything please contact the Atlanta Police Department at 404-577 Tips. If you have loved ones; children or parents who live alone please be mindful to check up on them from time to time. When someone is constantly on your mind it’s a good sign to give them a call. NIGERIA TO EUROPE Africa is a voyage I plan on visiting one day. I also desire to visit Italy. I can’t conceive being smuggled illegally into either of those countries. I want to go but not in those kind of conditions. In Edo State, Nigeria there are so many people who desire to have a better life other than what they currently have. They willingly allow themselves to travel on a dangerous route from Nigeria to Libya, and then hopefully to Europe. As noted in CNN, Edo State is renowned for trafficking immigrants. During their pilgrimage some Nigerians don’t make it to Europe because they are deceived and told to pay more money when they reach Libya. When they don’t pay they are sold into slavery; treated with the highest arrangement of inhumane behavior. This kind of ugliness is in every country; greed and money! The smugglers even have a VIP travel package for those who can afford it. This includes contraceptives just in case the women are sexually abused; which happens often but they don’t care, they risk it all unpleasantly, to travel to Europe. Most Americans are clueless to these international issues; however, individuals from other countries are way too familiar with illegal trafficking in their countries. What do you think about this? POWER-PRETTY MAMAS
In the beginning God created Sancti-Fly Women with Power-Pretty Mamas to continue on the menu. Sancti-Fly Mamas always represent for Women's History Month. If these two beauties look familiar, they most likely graced your view on SFM last year when I did a tribute to various women for Women's History Month. I purposely chose to honor ordinary women doing extraordinary things. This year I will be adding Power-Pretty Mamas to Women's History Month. It all came about when I was on Instagram and Gina (lady with microphone) said she always get compliments on how she looks. She appreciates all nice gestures but she also articulated how she wanted people to pay attention and know she is a wife with five children; has her own business, cooks dinner daily and works a 9-5 job. The second young lady (Ms. K) has the quality of a confidence builder; business savvy and always on her grind. She had a very pretty picture and I commented on it; stating her photo was a power-pretty picture. I thought about both of these ladies and came up with a combination of Power-Pretty Mamas. Power-Pretty has absolutely nothing to do with the looks of a woman. Colorism, sexism, and racism are all ineffective on Power-Pretty Mamas. They remain soaked in focus to build and create what they were purposed to do! It really has everything to do with the strength they empower. It is such a beautiful thing! I will be highlighting known and unknown Power-Pretty Mamas this month. Will it be you? Thank you to Queen K and Queen G for being my inspiration for Power-Pretty Mamas. The connoisseur of good black music will never end. This week will conclude my admiration to Black Music Month. I hope your spirit enjoyed all those gospel lyrics. I know I took you back down memory lane with old school House music. I wanted to feature a local Chicago artist for this last week. Derrick Robin Sampson is a Sancti-Fly Papa songwriter who has been on the music scene for over 20 years. Robin used to be in the background producing and arranging dope beats for other artist in the Chicago metropolitan land area. He still does! He recently started producing his own music for himself. He produced his own album. I named his album ‘Good Love Music’ because that is exactly what you inhale when you hear his melodic, peaceful voice and tunes. I sat down with Robin to ask him a few question about his musical journey. SFM: What inspired you to produce the Sancti-Fly Music you've loosed into the world? ROBIN: What inspired me to produce music and what has always inspired me is, I love music! I love creating stories through my music. SFM: Finish this statement. The look and likes of beauty... ROBIN: The looks and likes of beauty is being creative! SFM: If God gave you the power to change one thing in this world for one day (24hrs), what would you use your power for and why? ROBIN: Wow that is a great question. If God granted me the power to change one thing in this world for one day I would use love because love gives us compassion for life. We really need it! SFM: What message would you like to share with other inspiring artist regarding your musical journey? ROBIN: I would tell them never to give up on their dreams. Believe in yourself when no one else sees your vision. SFM: Are there any upcoming events for Derrick Robin Sampson you wish to overshare? ROBIN: I don’t have any upcoming events currently. I am working on some in the near future so please check back with me. SFM: I sure will. Thank you for your time and for sharing your love and light with SFM! ROBIN (CHANCE) Listen to Chance by Robin. The beautiful thing about music is how it connects us all together. Robin's music certainly has that element. It doesn't care what your religion is, who your parents are, what nationality you claim or where you live. It actually reminds us we are all human. We love humanly and we groove to the best tunes humanly. I named Derrick Robin Sampson's music 'Good Love Music' because it is positive energy covered in love. His music makes ways for you to have good days when you listen to it. DANIEL CAESAR (BEST PART)
I also wanted to add this song for the final week of Black Music Month. Have you ever been in your car and heard a song that you instantly LOVED on the radio; not just liked, but loved? Well this happened to me with this song. I was trying my best to find out who the heck the artist was (Daniel Caesar Featuring H.E.R) when I heard it. This song is filled to the brim with so much love. Enlighten your summer horizons just a little bit more. Take some time to relax! Watch a groovy Sancti-Fly movie. You HAVE to watch these 7 movies before the summer turns into fall. Well, you can watch them in the fall but I encourage you to watch these movies while taking in the summer breeze. You will not regret it. Overboard is such a great twist of magical love. I was told this was a rendition from another movie. This was all new to me. You will absolutely love this movie. You never know where you might find love or find it again! You have to see this movie! You will recommend it to others. Now & Forever is the BEST love story ever! Do you hear me! EVER! You will certainly appreciate your love even more after watching this story. You will feel so good and a little sad at times. It will be a good kind of sad. True love never ends! Power and grace = Lena Waithe! The Chi is definitely relevant as it illustrates a different perspective of the South Side of Chicago. You will not be disappointed. None of us are perfect we are human and we can all learn from each other. You have to check this drama out! The Chicago Way is a documentary by Mr. Washington. In it, he explores all the inner city corruption, violence and the folks who are inspired to change the narrative of their streets in Chicago. Mr. Washington also has a YouTube channel that he host daily called My Life In The Chi. I just want to say how all the positive things he does gets hardly any views but the wretchedness gets all the views. I surmise there are a lot of us who love violence. SMH! Writer and director Lawrence Lee Wallace does it again. He is so Sancti-Fly! Mr. Wallace has everybody wanting a piece of David in this movie! Pieces of David is like a dateline comedy with a Deep Production win-win spin. I love all of his movies. You will too once you taste a little bit of it. Don’t you dare watch it alone! Hana’s Suitcase is more of a documentary about a little girl name Hana and her family during the Holocaust. The pain and inhumane treatment they endured in the Auschwitz concentration camps; the survivors and those who did not survive. The suitcase is very significant but you will have to watch it to find out. It is such a sad moment in history. It teaches us how to be better towards each other and appreciate everything in life. You and your entire family need to see this movie. You know I have to say it! Yes, WAKANDA FOREVER! If you have not seen this movie, shame on you! This movie did quite well. A lot of folks have purchased this movie since it came out on DVD in May. Now they can watch it as many times as they desire; kind of how we all did when the movie first came out. I know you saw it more than once! Me too! Black Panther was a funny exploratory family movie.
